The Prep Baseball Report Colorado ran the Fall Prospect ID on September 12th and 13th at Highlands Ranch High School.  40+ players competed in games and a pro-style showcase for the PBR staff. Over the course of the next week, we will bring you positional analysis of the Fall Prospect ID. Continuing our look is the Corners position.

Best of the Best:

McGwire Bledsoe, 2017, Greeley West High School, 1B/OF/LHP
A 5-foot-10, 165-pound multi-positional player who ran a 7.03 60.  At first base and in the outfield, he relies on quick feet to get him in the right position.  At first, he covers good ground and delivers an accurate ball to the bag at 73 MPH.  At the plate he hits from an upright balanced stance.  He has a long upward swing path through the zone with good hip turn and pivot.  He had an 80 MPH exit velocity. On the mound he delivers the ball from a balanced set up with a short stride to the plate.  He has over the top arm action and falls off to the third base side on his finish.  He showed a 73 MPH fastball and 67 MPH curve with late break to the right-hand hitter. 

Spencer Gendreau, 2017, Rocky Mountain High School, 1B/RHP
A 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-hand hitting two-way player who ran a 7.42 60.  At the plate he is aggressive and gets the most out of his swing.  During batting practice he hit three balls out.  Good hip rotation and leg drive produce an 81 MPH exit velocity with good power to all fields.  In the field he moves well on balls in the hole and delivers and accurate 72 MPH throw on the bag.  On the mound he stays tall through the motion and delivery and falls off to the first base side on his finish.  He throws from a high ¾ angle and featured a 76 MPH fastball with good command of the outer half and a 65 MPH curve with sweeping break.

Anthony Cauble, 2016, Mountain Range High School, 3B/RHP
A 6-foot-0, 150-pound right-hand hitting two-way player who had the third fasted 60 at this event at 6.90.  He uses that speed to cover good ground at third base both up the line and in the hole.  He gets the ball out quickly and throws it across the diamond at 77 MPH.  At the plate he starts balance with a long early stride.  He has good leg drive and hip turn through the baseball and finished long out front.  An 82 MPH exit velocity produced balls with good carry to the left-center gap.  On the mound, he has a quick compact motion.  He has a small amount of sink and drive to the plate and does a nice job of landing in-line with his target.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and keeps his arm speed consistent on all pitches.  He showed a 74 MPH fastball that lived on the outer half and mixed in a 64 MPH curve and 68 MPH slider with good movement away from the right-hand hitter.

Logan Bradshaw, 2018, Columbine High School, 3B/SS
A 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-hand hitting corner who ran a 7.13 60.  He displays good feet and soft hands at multiple infield positions.  He gets the ball out of his glove quickly and delivers an accurate throw across the diamond at 67 MPH.  At the plate he starts balanced with his hands high in the zone.  A short stride gets momentum coming forward with good drive through the baseball.  He had a 79 MPH exit velocity and showed good gap to gap bat control. 

Sam Busche, 2017, Highlands Ranch High School, 1B/RHP/OF
A 6-foot-0, 148-pound right-hand hitting multi-positional player who ran a 7.9 60.  At first base, he has long strides and covers good ground, he comes off the back well and delivers a catchable ball to the bag at 70 MPH.  At the plate, he hits from a wide crouched stance with a short stride for timing.  Hands start at the top of the zone and come through in a slight upward motion producing a ball with good carry.  He had a 79 MPH exit velocity at this event.  On the mound he is becoming more projectable as he continues to grow.  He has a slight sink and drive in his motion and delivers the ball from a high ¾ arm slot.  His fastball was 76 MPH with good command of the outside portion of the plate.  He also showed a 66 MPH curve with sweeping action across the zone.

Ryder Ghidotti, 2016, Ponderosa High School, 3B/2B
A 5-foot-9, 160-pound, right-hand hitting infielder who ran a 6.95 60.  In the field he plays very aggressive and covers good ground both up the line and in the hole.  He gets the ball in the throwing window quickly and gets it across the diamond at 79 MPH with accuracy.  At the plate, he hits from a balanced stance with hands that load and slightly wrap around his head.  He hits from a firm front side with a slight upward path in his swing.  He had an 80 MPH exit velocity at this event. 

Nolan Pennington, 2019, Columbine High School, 1B/RHP
A 5-foot-8, 210-pound left-hand hitting corner who ran an 8.58 60.  In the field, time and experience will continue to help him get better.  He moves well to balls and does a nice job of getting the throw on the bag.  He had a 66 MPH arm velocity.  At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a short stride for timing.  Decent hip rotation produced a 76 MPH exit velocity and good plate coverage to left field.  

Nick Rohacek, 2019, Highlands Ranch High School, 1B/RHP
A 6-foot-5, 165-pound, right hand hitting two-way player who ran a 7.7 60.  He covers good ground with his frame and long stride.  His long arm was accurate and 72 MPH across the diamond.  He hits from a wide slightly open stance.  A high leg kick gets all his weight to his backside.  He moves his weight through the zone and hits off his front side.  He had an 81 MPH exit velocity at this event.  On the mound he throws from a tall motion with little sink and drive to the plate.  He throws from a ¾ arm angle and keeps his arm speed consistent on all pitches.  He featured an 81 MPH fastball with good run away from the hitter and rounded out his pitches with a 68 MPH curve that sweeps across the zone.
