Green Mountain 5 Erie 4
The defending 4A state champ got off to a good start in the round of 8 and were led by Wyatt Featherston who was 1-3 with 1 run and 2 RBI and Reid Effrein who was 1-4 with 2 RBI.
Ponderosa 4 D’Evelyn 3
The Mustangs are making the most of their post season run with this victory and were led by Alan Jeanjaquet who was 1-4 with 1 run, 2 RBI and 1 triple. Cameron Brown led the way for the Jaguars in this game by going 2-3 with 1 run, 2 RBI and 1 double.
Ponderosa 3 Evergreen 1
The Mustangs are 2-0 in the tournament thanks to a big day from Parker Eischen who was 1-2 with 1 run, 2 RBI and 1 homerun.
Saturday:
Green Mountain 8 Wheat Ridge 7
The Rams move to 2-0 and will play Ponderosa next, they were led in this game by Luke Kuberski who was 2-4 with 1 run, 2 RBI and 1 double and Harrison Trafas who went 1-2 with 2 RBI.
Cherry Creek 4 Grandview 1
The Bruins get the opening round win and were led offensively by Parker Jax who went 2-3 with 1 RBI and 1 double. Tanner O’Tremba took the mound for the Bruins in the opening game and went 5 innings in the victory giving up 3 hits, 0 runs and struck out 5.
Regis 3 Pine Creek 2
In a game that took 8 innings to decide, pitching was the name of the game in this one, Travis Marr went 7 innings for the Raiders giving up 9 hits, 2 runs and struck out 7. Conner Deeds went 7 1/3 for Pine Creek allowing 5 hits, 2 ER’s and struck out 4.
Mountain Vista 11 Regis 10
This game put two familiar Continental League opponents against each other and saw a combined 34 hits. Marc Mumper led the way for the Golden Eagles by going 3-5 with 1 run, 4 RBI, 1 double and 1 homerun. Thomas Jahde had a big day for Regis going 2-5 at the plate with 2 runs, 3 RBI and 2 homeruns.
Sunday:
Chatfield 2 Cherry Creek 1
The Chargers got a great combined pitching performance from Sean O’Dell who went 4 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run and struck out 5. He gave way to Mike Lucero who went 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 0 runs and struck out 5. The Charger’s offense was supplied by Kyle Winkler who was 1-2 with 1 run, 1 RBI and 1 home run. Blake Goldsberry took the mound for the Bruins and went 6 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 ER and struck out 4.
Rock Canyon 7 Pine Creek 6
The 5A elimination game saw 34 hits between the two teams, Matt Givin led the way for Rock Canyon going 3-4 with 2 runs, 4 RBI, 1 triple and 1 homerun. Peter McEvoy was the offensive leader for Pine Creek going 2-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI and 1 double.
Rock Canyon 5 Cherry Creek 1
The Jaguars stay alive after winning this 5A elimination game and were led offensively by Josh White who went 2-4 with 2 runs, 3 RBI and 1 homerun. Bryce Dietz took the mound for the Jaguars and went 7 innings giving up 6 hits, 0 ER and struck out 3.
Grandview 9 Regis 4
The Wolves advance to the Final Four with this win and were led by Eric Mingus who went 2-4 with 1 run, 1RBI and 1 triple and Morgan Smith who was 2-4 with 1 run, 3 RBI and 1 homerun.
Chatfield 3 Mountain Vista 2
The Chargers are the only unbeaten team left in the 5A Final Four after 3 straight wins Saturday and Sunday.
