The Regular Season is wrapping up, teams are making a push for the playoffs. Here is a look at action from around the state from yesterday.
Columbine (10-8) 4 Lakewood (13-5) 2
Down 2-0 going into the 5th, Columbine scored 1 in the 5th, 2 in the 6th, and 1 in the 7th while holding Lakewood scoreless in those innings. The Rebels were led by Adrian Trujillo (2016) he went 3 for 4 with and RBI, and Chris Lara (2017) who added an RBI and was 1 for 1. Lakewood’s Ben Schechter (2016) was 2 for 4, scored 2 runs, and a home run to lead Lakewood to an early lead.
Cherokee Trail (10-4) 11 Mullen (12-4) 1
The Cougars handed the Mustangs their first league loss on Tuesday. CT was led by Michael Morris (2017) who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and Nick Perez (2017) who was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and the pitching of Conner Nantkes (2017) he went 6 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run.
Fossil Ridge (7-10) 8 Fort Collins (10-5) 7
Calvin Marley (2018) led the way for Fossil Ridge going 3 for 4, scoring 2 runs and knocking in 2 to lead Fossil Ridge over the Lambkins.
Valor Christian (13-5) 21 Standley Lake (6-9) 1
Valor scored 15 runs in the 6th inning to blow out Standley Lake. Valor has a team had 12 hits and 16 RBI’s.
Cheyenne Mountain (7-9) 3 Air Academy (12-4) 2
Cheyenne Mountain was led by Matthew Smith (2017) who pitched 6 innings allowing just 5 hits and 2 earned runs, and Chad Helton (2016) who pitched 4 innings allowing just 3 hits and no runs, to shut down Air Academy in 10 innings.
