League play is underway in all classification, here is a look at action from yesterday.
Daily Roundup:
Berthoud 7 Frederick 0
Berthoud pitcher Chris DeSousa (2018) pitched an outstanding game on Saturday. He threw a complete game allowing just 1 hit to go along with 7 strike outs to beat Frederick.
Fruita Monument 5 Durango 4
After 5 innings Durango held a 3 to 2 edge over Durango, but then in the 6th inning Fruita tied the game at 3 apiece. Durango then put up a run in the top of the 7th to take the lead back, but in the bottom of the 7th Fruita scored 2 runs to win the game 5 to 4. Fruita’s Tyler Boggs (2018) went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and Ryan Biggs (2017) went 2 for 4 with 2 runs batted in.
Steamboat Springs 18 Battle Mountain 4
Steamboat Springs dominated Battle Mountain on Saturday, they scored 11 runs in the first 2 innings, and added another 6 in the top of the 4th, to win this game in 5 innings. Steamboat was led by, S. Gonzalez who had 3 RBI’s and was 2 for 4.
Eagle Valley 8 Rifle 7
Going into the top of the 7th inning Eagle was up 8 to 6, Rifle tried their best to tie the game by scoring 1 run in the top of the 7th, but that is all they could do. Eagle’s Joe Rivera III (2017) did most of the damage by going 1 for 4 but driving in 3 runs.
Delta 16 Aspen 0
The game was tied at zero going into the top of the 5th inning, and then Delta exploded and scored 2 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th, and 10 in the top of the 7th inning to beat Aspen on Saturday. Delta was led by, Josh Reeder was hit a jack to drive in 3 runs, and Justin Violett (2017) who was 2 for 5 with 3 RBI’s.
