League play is wrapping up in all classification, here is a look at action from yesterday.

Daily Roundup:

Cherokee Trail 15 Smoky Hill 0
Defending state champions, Cherokee Trail, blasted Smoky Hill on Thursday.  The Cougars are getting things going at the right time with districts approaching.  Pitcher, Conner Nantkes (2017) is getting back to form after back surgery, going 4 innings allowing 0 hits and striking out 8.  At the plate, both Nick Perez (2017) and Gavin Bell (2018) dropped a bomb to lead the Cougars offensively.

Mullen 11 Grandview 4
Grandview was leading the game 3 to 0 going into the 5th, and Preston Ederhoff (2018) was tossing a no-hitter, but then the wheels fell off and the Mustangs scored 5 in the 5th, 2 in the 6th, and 4 in the 7th to beat the Wolves in this key game for making it into districts.  Mustang’s hitter Jake Bielat (2018) led the charge going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.

Chaparral 4 Heritage 3

Chaparral scored 1 run in the first and another 3 in the 3rd, and then held on to win this important league contest over the Eagles.  Alec Ackerman (2017) did the damage offensively, going 1 for 2, with 2 RBI’s and a long ball.  Pitching for Chaparral was Jonah Jenkins (2017) going 6 strong innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and 7 strike outs.

Legend 5 Brighton 4
Brighton took Legend to 8 innings on Thursday, with the score tied 4 to 4 at the end of 7 innings, the Titans were able to push the winning run across the plate in the bottom of the 8th.  Titan’s Joey Rembisz (2017) was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Jordan Stubbings (2017) was 2 for 2 and scored twice.

Ponderosa 4 Douglas County 3
Ponderosa upset Douglas County on Thursday, scoring 1 in the 2nd and 3rd innings and adding another 2 in the bottom of the 6th to win a big league contest.  Will Prinz did the damage for the Mustangs going 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Rocky Mountain 11 Greeley West 2
The Lobos stayed hot and beat up on Greeley West on Thursday.  Rocky was led by, Kalen Hammer (2017) who went deep and was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, John Sorensen (2017) also hit a yard ball.
