Daily Roundup 4/22
Rocky Mountain 16 Greeley West 3
The Lobos run their record to 12-3 with this 13 hit, 16 run effort and were led offensively by John Sorenson who went 2-4 with 3 runs, 6 RBI and 2 homeruns. Chad Bell contributed a 2-2 day with 1 run, 4 RBI and Cole Anderson was 2-2 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Monarch 3 Broomfield 1
Logan Soole has another dominating performance throwing a complete game giving up zero earned runs, 5 hits, and collecting 9 strikeouts. Soole also went 2-4 with a double, and Jason Jacobs went 3-3 to lead the Coyotes offense.
Bear Creek 9 Dakota Ridge 2
The Bears come out on top in the 5A Jeffco League matchup and were led by Nick Madrid who went 2-4 with 2 runs and Riley Grivette who tossed 7 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 runs and collected 4 K’s.
Ralston Valley 8 Lakewood 6
Ralston Valley would score 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning to get the big Jeffco League win. Jarod Rivera would execute a big squeeze in the inning to give the Mustangs a 2-run lead. The Mustangs get big offensive performances from Caleb Squire who went 3-4 with a double and a homerun, and Peter Carlson who went 3-4 with a double and triple.
Green Mountain 11 Standley Lake 1
The Rams get back in the win column taking care of the Gators and were led offensively by Josh Ramirez who went 1-3 with 3 RBI, Talon Schaller who was 3-4 with 4 runs, 3 RBI and 1 homerun and Cole Shetterly who went 3-3 with 4 runs, 1 RBI and 1 homerun.
Ralston Valley 8 Lakewood 6
In a game that saw both teams combine for 18 hits and 9 errors, the Mustangs get the league win and were led by Peter Carlson who went 2-4 with 1 run and 3 RBI. Chase Powell led the way for the Tigers going 1-4 on the day with 2 RBI.
Evergreen 8 Valor 1
The Cougars keep pace in the 4A Jeffco League race and were led by Dane Kapande who went 2-2 with 2 runs, 1 RBI and Eli Ausman who was 2-4 with 2 runs, 1 RBI and added 7 innings on the mound with 3 hits and 6 K’s.
Eaton 17 Strassburg 1
The Reds use 15 hits to plate 17 runs in this game and were led offensively by Matt Burkart who was 2-4 with 2 runs, 4 RBI, Ryan Koehler who went 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI and Brady Tedesco who was 3-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI.
Thornton 9 Gateway 7
The game saw 23 hits and 16 runs combined with top offensive honors going to Edwin Castro of the Olympians who went 2-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI and 2 doubles on the day.
Battle Mountain 6 Summit 4
Battle Mountain comes away with the victory and were led by Rey Trillo who went 2-2 with 1 run scored. Mitchell Gray led the way for the Tigers by going 2-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI.
Legend 11 Highlands Ranch 3
The Titans continue to play good baseball this week and were led in this game by Isaac Rincones who was 1-2 with 2 runs, 2 RBI, Mateo Shannon who went 1-3 with 2 runs, 1 RBI and Kyle Cardona who was 2-2 with 1 RBI and 2 doubles.
Douglas County 6 Chaparral 2
The Huskies get an important Continental League win to stay in the 5A playoff hunt over the Wolverines. Ryan Connolly was dominant on the mound pitching 6 innings giving up 5 hits and collecting 12 strikeouts. JP Rubino and Sean Kelson would hit homeruns for the Huskies
Rock Canyon 8 Mountain Vista 2
The Jaguars are proving they could be the top team at the 5A level with another quality win in the Continental League. Bryce Dietz has another quality start going 6 innings giving up 5 hits and collecting 6 strikeouts. Cole Howard and Ben Sneider would drive in 5 of the Jaguars 8 runs.
