Scouting Report

9-22-18

6-foot-2, 200-pound 1B/RHP who ran a 7.25 60. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, simple swing, minimal wasted movement and registered an 89 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, fluid footwork, natural outfield actions, plays through the baseball. Long arm action, ¾ to high ¾ slot and throws topped at 85 mph. On the mound he has a sturdy balance point, tall and fall style, works in-line with finish towards first base, short stride, squared to home with toe landing closed. Short arm swing, high ¾ slot, some rhythm throughout. Fastball, run to the arm side, down in the zone, 80-82 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, flashed tight spin, 64-65 mph.

6-foot-1, 180-pound right hand hitting RHP/1B.  At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square.  Lower half is quick through the zone creating good pull side power.  Swing is long, but hands are quick with extension out front.  Exit velocity was 93 MPH In the field he is athletic and stays in good position.  The ball gets out of his hand quick with accuracy.  Arm velocity was 85 MPH.  On the mound he is mechanically sound, he stands tall and gets balanced.  Strong lower leg drive to the plate and stays in-line on his delivery. Delivery is from an over the top arm slot.  Fastball was 84 MPH with command down in the zone.  He added a    67 MPH Curve with late 11/5 break and finished with a 71 MPH Change with late down movement away from the hitter.

6-foot-1, 180-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.29 60.  At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square.  Weight transfer is strong on the swing and his path is up-hill.  Hands have quick whip through the zone and good extension out front.  During the live round he hit several balls hard off the left center wall.  Exit Velocity was 88 MPH.  In the field he shows good instincts and anticipation at 3rd base.  He moves well on the ball to his back hand side and has a quick transfer from his glove to throwing hand.  Arm velocity was 81 MPH with accuracy.  On the mound he is mechanically sound and drives hard to the plate from a good balanced position.  Lower half stays in-line with the plate on delivery with a quick loose arm.  Arm slot is high ¾ and his fastball was 84 MPH with good location away in the zone.  He also showcased a 68 MPG curve with sharp 11/5 break.
