QUICK HITS
2018 C Cole Crader had a great day on Sunday. Crader hit the first pitch of the showcase out off a 81 mph fastball, and also connected for another deep double. Crader ran a good catcher 60 time of 7.05 60 time on a slow wet track, and arm velo was 72 mph, and have had at 75 in previous events. 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. We have had Crader at a 94 mph exit velo. Pop time was 1.99 off pitcher between innings.
2020 Catcher Craig Kenney (Regis Jesuit) impressed at the plate with two doubles, making consistent hard pull contact. Lee possesses a thick frame that shows signs of physical maturity.
2020 SS/RHP Gavin Roberts (Chaparral) showed off his versatility. Played a solid SS with good range and soft hands. Through 83 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the 6-foot-1 155-pound righty topped at 83 mph.
2019 3B Brice Martinez (Cherry Creek) ran an impressive top 60 time of 6.72 on a slower track. Also posted a 91 mph exit velo.
RHP Dylan Stricklett (Brighton) worked 85-87 mph with fastball, and showed a tight spinning slider at 73-74 mph. Erratic with control at times, but when it was over the plate no one could touch it. Stricklett is 5-10, 165 pounds. Also posted highest exit velo of 94 mph, and ran a 7.13 60 time.
2021 SS Gavin Schmeh (Brighton) was one of the top defenders at the event, showing off clean and easy actions. Schmeh ranged well into the gap. Only a freshman, Schmeh showed good arm strength across diamond.
2019 C Rex Olinger (Silver Creek)impressed behind the dish. Strong athletic catcher who steals strikes. 2.1 in-game pop-time. Works hard for the pitcher. 5-foot-11, 180 pounds.
2020 RHP Tyler Smith (Rock Canyon) was impressive on mound. Showcasing a 82-83 mph fastball that played faster, mixing in a tight 66-67 mph curveball with tight spin, the 5-foot-11, 170 pound Smith struck out 4 of 6 batters.
2020 C Declan Weisner had top pop-time of the event at even at 1.9, and 1.97 off pitcher. arm velo was 76 mph. Solid catcher. Also roped a double to left center on low 82 mph fastball.
