december/january commitment tracker
The calendar has officially flipped to 2022 and we've already had a couple commitments to announce in Colorado. The senior class in Colorado continues to see names fly off the board as they're now just 7-8 months away from stepping on campus.
Below we take a look at five of Colorado's most recent commitments with an intriguing crop of senior players. One of them will head the Division I route, with another going DII, DIII and a pair headed for California's junior college.

Casey Wood OF / Cherry Creek, CO / 2022
Santa Barbara CC (California, CCCAA) Wood is an athletic outfielder from Cherry Creek HS who moves well in the outfield and can swing the bat. There's bat speed from the right-side with consistent hard contact and he continues to tap into power. With the tools, size and athletic capabilities, he'll be an interesting follow these next two years in California.

Cooper Latino 3B / RHP / Douglas County , CO / 2022
CSU Pueblo (Colorado, NCAA DII) Latino is another player on this list who's put together a good 12 months and he'll stay in State for his college career, committing to Colorado State - Pueblo. The added strength in his game has been evident from the right-side and he continues to look the part on the infield. It will be exciting to continue following his college career right here in our backyard.

Samuel Stem OF / LHP / Erie, CO / 2022
Gonzaga University (Washington, NCAA DI) Sam Stem was another one of the top uncommitted seniors in the State and the left-handed bat has really jumped out over the past two summers. Stem displayed size, physicality and projectable tools at the All-Colorado Showcase in 2020 and took off from there. The Erie HS outfielder will now take his talents to the NorthWest to play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Finn O'Connor SS / 2B / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2022
Rhodes College (Tennessee, NCAA DIII) O'Connor was one of the top unsigned seniors in the State and has now committed to Rhodes College after a strong 2021 season. The Regis Jesuit product impressed at the West Coast Games where he posted a 101.3 exit velocity and was 85 across the diamond. Not only does he have the tools on the offensive side and defensive side, but we even had him up to 86 mph this past year as well.

Monterey Peninsula College (California, CCCAA) We haven't seen Malecha at an event since 2019 but in-game over the years he's been able to spread the ball to all fields from the right-side of the plate. At 6-foot-2, 168-pounds there’s plenty of room to add strength and begin tapping into his power. The Legacy HS middle infielder will be going the junior college route in the State of California.
