Quick Hits
+ Over 35 Chatfield Chargers showed up to the scout day. Former head coach Matt Johnson, who has stepped down so he can watch his son Tanner Johnson play at Garden City, has been replaced by first year head coach Daniel Medina, who has assembled a strong coaching staff with a lot of experience. The Chargers, just two years removed from the 5A state championship game, look to reload in 2018 with a solid core of seniors led by Blake Dickman, Kasey Koppelmaa, and Aaron Ross. Look for a solid junior and sophomore class to mix in to help Chatfield compete for the Jeffco League title, and the program is loaded with left-handed hitters.
+ 2018 3B Aaron Ross, 6-foot, 200 pounds. Bats and throws right. Wide, balanced stance. showcased good bat speed in the live round with pull power. Big strong player, 85 mph exit velo. At 3B had quick feet and soft hands. Gained good ground towards 1B with a 72 mph arm velo. Could be a middle of the lineup hitter for the Chargers
+ 2019 SS Sam Low, 6-0, 150 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall stance, toe-tap stride. Had a good live round with good bat speed. Right field power. Let's the ball get deep. 89 mph exit velo.
