CSN Scout Day: Pitcher Preview
+ Calvin Marley | Sophomore | TCU
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Originally a bounce back from Wichita State, Calvin is a physical presence on the mound with a power arm that will pitch in the low 90's and has reached up to 95 mph already this Fall. He is a workhorse and is constantly trying to get better at his craft. He should lead the staff for CSN this year."

+ Sayer Diederich | Sophomore | TCU
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Sayer is new to CSN this year and is a bounce back from the University of Nebraska. Sayer is just coming into his own right now and does not throw anything straight. His fastball and slider both have elite spin rates and can throw all three of his pitches for a strike whenever he wants to. He is a true athlete that can pitch."

+ Trey Frahm | Sophomore | Nebraska
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Trey is a power arm on the mound with his fastball has reached up to 98 mph. He can throw his fastball, slider and curveball on demand with the ability to pitch backwards or attack with his plus fastball. Trey has taken the biggest strides on the mound for us mentally and physically."

+ Zac Czerniaski | Sophomore | Uncommitted
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Ski is a transfer from Pima CC. He has come in with the desire to get better and make an impact. We have seen his two seamer reach 92 with a plus slider. His slider can be used ahead or behind in the count. He is a grinder on the mound. He wants the ball in big situations."
____________________________________________________________
+ DJ Contreras | Sophomore | Uncommitted
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "DJ is transferring in from Arizona Western CC after being a two year starter for them. He is the most polished of all the CSN pitchers mentally and physically with an advanced knowledge of how and where to attack hitters. He can throw any of his pitches at any count. We expect big things out of DJ this spring."
____________________________________________________________
+ Austin Raleigh | Sophomore | Uncommitted
____________________________________________________________
+ Izzy Gutierrez | Sophomore | Uncommitted
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Izzy is a second year pitcher for CSN and he threw some big innings for us last year out of the pen. Izzy can run his fastball up to 90-91 mph and with his retooled arsenal we expect him to throw some big innings for us again."
____________________________________________________________
+ Demetrius Vigil | Sophomore | Uncommitted
CSN Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge - "Debo has really developed over the past couple year and pitched some big innings out of the bullpen for us last year. He will pitch in the high 80's with a very good slider and straight change and he is just learning what he can do. Physically he is a late bloomer and going to be a steal for a 4 year school looking for a pitcher with experience. He can pitch traditional or backwards against hitters with no problems."
