5280 Spotlight: 1B JT Shank

Strength added and JT Shank continues his upward developmental path. Great left-handed hitter with strong hands at the palte and the ability to hit to all fields. Line drive tendency with power potential and top exit velocity of 95.5 mph.

Starts in a shoulder-width stance, side step into pivot with small, controlled leg lift with a slight coil, good front leg lead block, lands slightly closed. Consistent, over-the-top arm action on all pitches. FB up to 80. CB 67-68. Projectable pitcher with strong arm.

Arm: INF velo, 72 Arm action and accuracy is very good.  Long extension, with good room for growth. Potential for plus arm strength. 
Defense: Pre-pitch set up can improve. Ground ball catch/gather and momentum to throw is good. Demonstrated athleticism. Can be a great benefit as a LHH if he develops as a MIF/3B...great potential. Good Actions and footwork around 1B.

Power: Great potential for power development. 
Arm: 1B Velo: 76   Arm works great, small back side arc with good extension
Defense: 1B: Showcased at 1B and demonstrated good footwork and ground ball positioning.  Footwork was advanced, did great with redirected double play balls. Would benefit by developing ALL Inf positions!
