2024 Colorado Player of the Year: Easton Miller

The Prep Baseball Colorado staff is excited to announce we have selected one athlete who has excelled amongst his peers and will receive this year's Prep Baseball Colorado Player of the Year Award:
The Fossil Ridge senior put together one of the more impressive seasons on the mound in recent years within the state thanks to 51.1 innings with 100 strikeouts, a 1.09 ERA, and a 7-0 record at the 5A level. Miller also posted a standout performance against Ponderosa this spring where he whiffed 17 hitters, allowed just one hit, and zero earned runs. Later in the season against Fort Collins, Miller went another complete game with only one hit allowed, and 11 Ks. Overall on the season, Miller registered SIX double-digit strikeout games.
The bat was productive for Miller in 2024 as well since he hit .344 with a .957 OPS, 9 extra-base hits, and 11 stolen bases across 81 plate appearances. Miller helped lead his 5A Fossil Ridge program to a school's best 22-1 regular season record while also breaking the high-school's single season strikeout record.
Miller is a physical athlete who continues to develop with some high-end tools as shown by his dominating fastball that sat between 90-93 mph (2300+ rpms) this season. We also saw Miller increase his slider (2500+ rpms) usage this spring with some quality pitchability to go with a servicable changeup. The one-two punch of Miller's electric fastball and sweeping slider gave batter's fits all season long.

Miller has built plenty of national momentum in 2024 as well since he has now cracked the Prep Baseball national rankings as a right-handed pitcher and has the potential to be picked in this year's upcoming MLB draft. The Future Games' alumni did sign his letter of intent to play college baseball at The United States Air Force Academy prior to this season.
