The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 7, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2024 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2024 SEASON OUTLOOK:

The Lutheran Lions have a stout squad heading into the 2024 season. Coach Hormann should have plenty of impact arms available at his disposal, and there are also some extremely tough outs in this lineup with guys like Andrew McNear, Eli Morgan, and Jett Maisano returning as committed seniors. There are plenty of other seniors around these guys who should have an impact on the season as well, while younger prospects like Cade Petersen and Ian Stephenitch could have their turn at varsity action this spring. If this team gains momentum early, then they could be one of the toughest 4A programs to knock off in the state.
