2023 CHSAA Season Preview: Ponderosa HS

The Colorado high school season is nearing quickly, and we're here to cover it. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we'll publish our team previews ahead of the 2023 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

OUTLOOK:
Ponderosa has dominated 4A Colorado baseball recently and they are now bumped into 5A for the 2023 season. Things still may not change much for Ponderosa since they will be playing in the Continental League once again and are used to the stout 5A competition. This roster did lose six starters after last spring, but they are returning Gabe Jacobs as a senior this year who can carry the team offensively and on the mound at times. The Mustangs also have Bryce Robinette coming back to their infield and he hit .358 with a .956 OPS and two homers as a sophomore last season. Ponderosa could make some noise in 5A baseball in 2023.
