2021 Future Games Spotlight: Tommy Marsh

The 2021 PBR Future Games has come and gone. The event featured the top uncommitted 2023 and 2024 players around the country representing their home state in front of over 350+ college coaches. Team Colorado had high energy and talented squad who showcased their abilities all week. Team Colorado went 3-0 with wins over PBR Select, Oklahoma and Utah. Just as impressive, was our players' individual GPA’s. Their futures are bright as the true definition of Student-Athletes.

Today, we highlight: Tommy Marsh
2023, Tommy Marsh, Cherry Creek , 3B, (Slammers) Strong build. Marsh has demonstrated abilities at the plate and on the mound. Uses a balanced lower half to create great rotational acceleration. Quick hands stay inside ball with slight pull tendency. Exit velocity of 100.4. Solid defensively skills at third with +hands and improving agility and foot work. 87 mph across the diamond. Shows potential on the mound Fastball 86-87, Slider 78. Over the top delivery some arm side run and Slider is an out pitch. Strong desire to develop.

Strong Body! Strong lower half. Big Side step to pivot foot. Swing Leg lift to balance, No Coil. Hands high. Tall to Fall(up/down front leg to stride) Extended arc on backside. Aggressive effort to delivery with a high 3⁄4 release. All momentum to the plate Slight pull with head . Can improve glove side leverage FB 83 Good ASR. CB/SL 69-70 11/5 gradual break with good arm speed CH 76-79 Improved... good rotation, good change of speed. 2 Way Player. Strong potential with high ceiling as RHP

Run: 7.4
Hit: Starts with a wide stance and slightly open. Has a coiling action on his stride foot back to linear. Good job of being explosive in the lower half. Much of his power is generated by his legs. High hands, with a little wrap to load. Does a good job of getting his hands back into the hitting zone. Good barrel control and good extension. Hands do a good job of staying inside the ball. Big strong kid with a good balanced swing, he is an advanced hitter for his age. Definitely a player to follow the next 3 years. One of the better players in his class. Exit Velo 95
Power: Already has plus power, one of the best hitters in his class. Tremendous power!!
Arm: Arm Velo 84 Nice whippy loose ¾ arm slot. Showed good ability to throw from a lower arm slot on the double play.
Defense: Does a good job of getting around the ball. Has rhythmic feet, has soft hands for big kid. Does a pretty good job of playing through the ball.
6’0” 180 Wide base big side step to pivot foot. Leg lift to balance, toes up. Hands high. Tall to Fall, Long arc on backside. Aggressive effort to delivery with a high ¾ release. Head has slight tilt and pull to glove side. Avg Glove side leverage to rotation. FB 79-80 Some downward and arm side run. CB/SL 67-69 11/5 action has good rotation with gradual break. CH 69-71 Minimal movement, good change of speed. Strong Lower and Upper Body, as he refines mechanics, can see great potential on mound as well as hitting.

Hit: RHH. Wide Foundation with lean to Back side. Sway Load and minimal leg lift for stride. Hands are simple with little movement. Arm angles maintained and bat head in optimal position before launch. Tommy has direct and punishing path to ball. Rear side acceleration is great. Lower/Upper in sync. Hands stay inside ball, Middle of field approach with some pull tendency. Exit Velo 93 Would consider Tommy a Top Follow for 2023!
Power: YES. Will demonstrate power now and believe his potential will continue as he progresses
