2014 Draft: Second Day Thoughts

The third through 10th rounds took place Friday afternoon with teams jumping on some of the top players available early on before going for discount players to save money for the final 30 rounds on Saturday. I offered some quick thoughts on the first day and will do so again regarding the second day, with a couple additional ones on Thursday’s action after taking some time to digest it all.
+ Just eight players out of the National Top 50 are still on the board. Most of them are virtually unsignable at this point, but a couple still could conceivably get picked tomorrow and sign if a team has saved enough money.
+ I said it on Twitter when it happened, but I loved the Cardinals’ selection of Jack Flaherty (Harvard-Westlake HS, CA). He has tremendous upside with his projectable frame and athleticism.
