LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - Prep Baseball California is pleased to announce the hiring of Steven Hardesty as the North Los Angeles/Ventura County area scout. 

Steven Hardesty comes to Prep Baseball California with an extensive background in baseball including 14+ years coaching at the 4-year College and Junior College levels; over a decade of coaching at the College Development/Scout baseball levels, and 10+ years as an associate scout for MLB area scouts in the Central Coast/Northern Los Angeles region.

Hardesty played his high school baseball at Ventura High School in Ventura, Ca. Upon graduation he played one year at Ventura College before receiving a scholarship to play at Trinity International University in Chicago, Il, but after one year he elected to transfer to Westmont College where he was a 2-year starter and team captain.

His college coaching career started in the New York Collegiate Baseball League in 2006. From there he went on to spend 2 years as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Westmont College. Next, he accepted an opportunity to return to Ventura College and join the staff there where he served as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Associate Head Coach for the Pirates baseball program for nearly 10 years before moving on to serve as the Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for Santa Barbara City College and then one year as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for Moorpark College.

Additionally, during his college coaching career, he coached for the So Cal Halos College Summer Programs and High School Travel team level from 2013-15. 

Hardesty earned his B.A. from Westmont College in Political Science in 2006, an M.S.S. degree in Sports Studies (emphasis in Strength and Conditioning) from the United States Sports Academy in 2009, and in 2012, he completed his M.S. in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.

He currently resides in Ventura, California and is the proud father of 2 children (Kaleb 11 years old and Rylee 6 years old).
