Today, we put the spotlight on the number 59 ranked player in the 2026 class in NorCal '26 LHP/1B Kaden Nicholls from Bear River High School. With a wiry athletic frame that has room to continue adding strength to it at a present 6'0 150 lbs. and showing big upside as a pitcher with interesting LH bat . Nicholls opened there year with an impressive workout at the Prep Baseball California NorCal Preseason and followed it up with an electric sophomore campaign in NorCal.. During the workout portion of the PreSeason All State event Nicholls showed solid skills across the board as a position player. Starting with a 7.51 second 60 yard dash that includes a top run speed of 18 MPH. He moves around with solid actions at 1B with some rhythm to his footwork/glove while flashing arm strength at 84 MPH. On the offensive side of the game Nicholls has a sneaky good LH swing (72.9 MPH bat speed, 24.8 MPH hand speed and 28.3 Gs of rotational acceleration that generates hard contact from the middle to pull side of the field including a peak EV at 92.8 MPH. Alexander is solid position player prospect, but his ability on the mound takes his game to the next level. Showing a FB at 86-88 MPH with ability to work it to both sides and up and down in the zone making it a 4-quadrant potential pitch. Nicholls adds a softer CB in the 66-69 MPH range which he can throw consistently for strikes. He rounds out his arsenal with an intriguing 76-79 MPH CHG which he kills spin on with arm side fade to it. Playing on the smaller school level this year Alexander dominated the competition as a pitcher while having a strong year as a position player. Putting up a .284/.426/.459 slash line with 5 doubles, 1 triple and 2 HRs while posting an eye popping line on the mound including a .19 ERA over 74 innings with an astounding 122 Ks allowing only 20 BBs and 30 hits to go with his 10-1 record on the year. With his impressive arsenal on the mound, feel to pitch, LH hitting potential and upside there is plenty to like about Nicholls and as he continues to mature and develop over the course of his final 2 years of high school/travel baseball he will undoubtedly be one for college programs to keep eyes on.
