The player featured today is one of the top players in the state of California and figures prominently in our Class of 2026 Rankings. All players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 125 ranked player in the 2026 class in SoCal '26 C Ryan Hubbard from Oak Ridge High School. Hubbard is solidly built at 5'11 195 lbs. with some present strength throughout his frame. He showcased a good athletic foundation at the NorCal Preseason All State to begin the year including a 7.29 60 time while flashing his potential both behind the plate and at 3B. His glove is soft with strong wrists and a good feel to receive while adding 74 MPH present C arm velocity with a quick transfer into to a 1.90-1.98 pop time range during the workout. His feet/glove are solid at 3B with feel for the position and solid present arm strength at 82 MPH from the hot corner.

With a profile that looks to be able to stay at a premium position defensively or handle an INF corner should he need to move the RH hitting profile for Hubbard amplifies his potential. Hubbard features an explosive swing with life in the path. His Blast metrics jump off the page including an average of 78.4 MPH on bat speed, 22 MPH average hand speed with a peak of 23.3 MPH, while showing the torque in his swing with 23.3 Gs of rotational acceleration at the peak while averaging 14.3 Gs. As eye opening as his swing data was his present approach/feel to hit helped him collect just as impressive batted ball data during batting practice with a 98.6 MPH max EV and a 93.2 MPH avg EV which show off the strength in his contact quality plus with a 83% Fly ball/Line Drive rate Hubbard consistently gets the baseball in the air with authority. His underlying Trackman data also shows the potential of his profile at the plate as he generated a 83% hard hit rate, 17% barrel rate, 50% sweet spot rate and a 358' max distance.

Hubbardd is preparing for his JR. campaign at Oak Ridge where he will look to follow up on Soph. season where he started 31 of 32 games for the Trojans showing the foundation of his potential. He hit .282/.412/.538 for a .950 OPS while slugging 5 homers which was tops on the team while adding 5 doubles, 17 RBIs and scoring 17 runs. While there is still polish to the overall profile you can see the foundation of a talented uncommitted '26 from NorCal who has an arrow pointed up on his profile for college programs.
