The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we lead up to the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Prep Baseball California will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '26 athletes as we have passed the August, 1st contact date for this class. The player featured today is one of the top players in the state of California and figures prominently in our Class of 2026 Rankings. All players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 80 ranked player in the 2026 class in SoCal '26 C Jaden Liu from Servite High School. With a durable strong frame at 5'11 200 lbs. Liu has been a strong performer at a variety of Prep Baseball California events flashing his defensive ability to go with offensive intrigue. During the workout portions of our Prep Baseball California events Liu has displayed the actions receiving, arm strength and accuracy to potentially be an impact defender behind the dish including 75 MPH C arm velocity with a low of 1.95 on his pop times. While his defensive ability at a premium spot is interesting Jaden has shown a quality toolset on the offensive side in his RH hitting profile. His swing shows well metrically with hand speed (22.2 MPH) bat speed (6 MPH) via Blast Motion. During batting practice he has shown the ability to produce hard contact including a peak EV at 93.6 MPH with a 86 MPH average EV and feel for getting his barrel to contact including a 86% sweet spot rate.. As he prepares for his JR. campaign at Servite where he figures to play a prominent role within their lineup as well behind the plate against the competitive High School baseball circuit in the Trinity League and across Southern California that will help to keep the up arrow signs for Liu as a player to keep close eyes on over his final 2 years of high school/travel baseball.

Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-11, 200-pounds. thick strong frame
Hit: RHH. open stance with a wider set up. rests bat on back shoulder with hands at shoulder height and high back elbow. small forward stride with a barrel tip in the hand load. lands in balanced position at launch. balanced through the swing with good sequence and strong hands which flash leverage in the path. shows a feel for the barrel and a middle to pull side approach. 76 mph bat speed with 9.7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 80.6 mph. 308' max distance. swing is flatter with a middle of the field approach showing doubles power with some pull side HR presently.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. transfer is quick with a longer arm stroke that shows good arm speed. throws are online with carry.
Defense: 1.95-2.10 pop times. strength in the frame with solid feel to receive and good feet in the throwing motion.
ATH: 7.84 runner in the 60. shows body control with some burst off the line
