Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series takes a dive back into the 2025 class as this class begins its SR. year of High School there are still several talented uncommitted players in this class who figure prominently in our Class of 2025 Rankings.  All players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 213 ranked player in the 2025 class in SoCal '25 SS/RHP Brock Foulds from Rancho Cucamonga High School. Foulds has a medium sized athletic build at 5'10 155 lbs. that shows some wiry present strength to it. He is a quick twitch athlete who shows the ability to stick up the middle defensively including a 6.69 60 time with a 21.1 MPH max run speed, 3.78 second 30-yard split while also showing a 31.1" vertical jump. Foulds shows good hands with lateral range and arm strength (86 MPH INF velo) that all give him an up the middle INF defensive profile that could also handle a move to 3B or even CF if necessary.

While his potential to handle multiple spots defensively with even some ability to stick at premium defensive spots, Foulds adds a quality offensive profile from the RH side. With a compact line drive based swing (83% Line drive/Ground ball contact) from a simple operation that relies on quick hands (20.9 MPH hand speed with 71 MPH bat speed) while flashing line to line hard contact. His batted ball data shows a high contact line drive approach with some sneaky impact (94 MPH max EV) with an ability to consistently hit the baseball hard (85.1 MPH avg EV and 67% sweet spot rate). Foulds looks solid in batting practice and his hitting ability translated in game at CA State Games with several hard hit baseballs in game. In addition he lead the Rancho Cucagmonga program with a .419 average during the 2024 CIF High School season while 7 extra base hits with a .996 OPS for the season and 18 stolen bases.

To round out his potential Foulds can step on the mound and give you a quality righthand pitching profile with a quick arm and a 4 pitch mix. His pitching arsenal is lead by his 84-87 MPH FB that touches 88 with feel for a 76-78 MPH CHG he kills spin on and backed up by a pair of breaking balls in his 69-71 MPH CB and 75-77 MPH SLD. He throws strikes and attacks hitters with a competitive mindset which helped him post a 1.69 ERA over 8 starts at Rancho Cucamonga in 2024 with 4 wins over 49.2 innings pitched. Equally impressive was his ability to post a 54 K to 9 BB ratio over the course of his high school season backing up his control/command of the strike zone with his arsenal.

As he prepares for his SR. campaign in the strong SoCal baseball region for Rancho Cucamonga Foulds is a talented uncommitted '25 who should be firmly on the radar of college programs as a middle of the diamond defender who shows top of the order potential with intriguing 2-way potential on the mound.
