The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 SS/3B Brady Hernandez from Leland High School. With a medium sized frame, some present strength to him and solid average athleticism presently Hernandez has the potential to stick on the INF dirt long term. He moves well defensively with good angles, solid footwork and clean hands with a smooth transfer that could handle SS, although his present arm strength will play better at 2B/3B. There is the foundation of defensive actions, but the continued development of his athletic ability and arm strength will determine the future home for Hernandez, but it should be on the INF dirt. His offensive ability is enticing with a quality swing that shows good sequence in the operation and balance through contact. There is present bat speed with lift in his path and has shown consistent feel for his barrel to generate hard contact. The ball carries well off the bat to the pull side and he could grow into middle of the field impact as he adds strength to his frame. Hernandez profiles as a potential top of the order bat who at his floor will add length/depth to a lineup with his feel to hit and potential for impact. College coaches should have this '25 on their recruiting boards as a good follow.
