The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts in live looks and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 SS/2B Wyatt Hanoian from Orange Lutheran High School. With a compact stronger build at 5'9 170 lbs frame that has some strength to it presently while showing the potential to be a solid infielder defender for the powerhouse Lancers programs has an intriguing all over profile. The switch-hitting Hanoian put together an outstanding JR. campaign in what is likely he most difficult high school baseball league in the nation the Trinity League. Hanoian was 2nd on the team in batting average with a .322 average, scored 15 runs (3rd on the team), had a .459 OBP and .440 SLG for a .900 OPS on the spring with an impressive 12 BB/12 K ratio.
Hanoian has worked out twice in 2022 for the Prep Baseball California staff where he shows an impressive swing in the batters box. Hanoian in those looks has displayed a swing with bat speed (73.3 MPH max), quickness in his hands (25.2 MPH max), torque in the the turn (23.1 G's of rotational acceleration) that plays to his middle to pull approach with leverage in the path. His raw power shows well reaching 93.4 MPH on his max exit velocity while consistently barreling baseballs with authority (85.9 MPH average exit velocity) for our staff. With solid strength to his physical profile, solid defensively ability and a very intriguing offensive profile that has performed at a high level Hanoian is a name to know in the '25 class for college programs looking for impact pieces for their lineups who has performed against very high level competition.

Positional Profile: MINF
Body: 5-9, 168-pounds. Medium frame. Present physicality. Room to add.
Defense: Fundamental actions. Light feet that play through the ball and in rhythm. Heel-toe. Soft hands. Decent glove-to-hand.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Easy effort strength. Short clean AA. Sailed some throws during workout. Can manipulate slot if needed.
Hit: S/R. Similar stances and triggers from both sides. Relaxed upper half with loose hands and an upright bat. Slightly open feet. Smaller leg lift trigger that loads early. Hands slot back into a lower launch position. Bat enters on a slight uphill path. Above average bat speed. Turns tight and quick (18gs avg. rotational acceleration). More FBs than LDs/GBs in his BP round. Had a LD knock up the middle during game action.
