Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series takes a dive back into the 2025 class as this class is inching closer to their final seasons of High School baseball there are still several talented uncommitted players in this class who our staff has had the opportunity to see compete. Our player today was standout performer at one of our recent Fall Uncommitted Games Series of events in locations around the state including NorCal, Orange County and Ventura County.
We invite you to get to know the players featured here through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a strong performer from the Orange County Uncommitted Game event for the 2025 class in SoCal '25 RHP Isaiah Reyes from Great Oak High School. Entering the event Reyes was coming off a JR. campaign at Great Oak which saw him toe the rubber 4 times for a total of 6 innings in 2024 where he struck out 4 hitters. With several senior arms leaving the program there is plenty of opportunity for Reyes to garner a more significant role on the Wolfpack staff.
Reyes was solid during his outing in front of our Prep Baseball California staff at the Orange County Uncommitted Game Event. The wiry 6'1 145 lbs. righthander showed off a loose quick arm which has potential working at 83-85 MPH consistently while bumping up near 86 MPH in his outing. Reyes can ride the FB with an average of around 17" of IVB and peaking at 22" of IVB. Reyes shows relative ease to get to his velocity at preesnt and combined with a wiry build which if he can add strength to his body will add velocity/life to his FB. Backing up his upside FB is a 71-74 MPH SLD which shows horizontal action (14" of horizontal break on average with a max of 17") with its movement pattern giving it a quality SLD shape. His physical build, arsenal and present control/command may suit him best for a leverage reliever role in the future at the next level, but should he make the necessary development gains there is potential for him to potential start.
With his SR. campaign quickly approachin Reyes is a solid uncommitted arm out of SoCal that college programs should be keeping eyes on for additions to their pitching staff. Whether in a potential leverage reliever role or possibly starter in the future a program landing Reyes should get a quality arm to bolster their programs future.
