The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we near the completion of the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is continuing to highlight some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The player featured today was a stellar performer in live looks by our Prep Baseball California staff this spring and is one the top uncommitted players in our Class of 2025 rankings. The players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 RHP/INF Cameron Fausset from Newbury Park High School. With an athletic and strongly built frame at 6' 195 lbs. and solid athleticism across the board Fausset gives the feel of both an intriguing RHP prospect, but also a quality RHH corner INF/OF prospect. During mulitple in game looks this spring for Prep Baseball California Central Coast/VTA County scout Steven Hardesty, Fausset both consistently found the barrel with impact at the plate with a strong approach while flashing an intriguing arsenal on the mound. Fausset was strong with bat all spring long beyond just the looks from Hardesty including a .329 AVG/.435 OBP/.407 SLG with 3 doubles, 1 HR, 13 RBIs, 15 runs scored, 11/15 BB to K ratio with 12 stolen bases.   His strong offensive ability that shows a middle of the order potential with depth to back end of a lineup floor is even more intriguing when you consider he actually is as good if not better on the mound. Fausset uses a 3 pitch mix that is highlighted by his FB which works consistently at 88-92 MPH and has peaked at 94 MPH in the spring. From there the durable strong framed Fausset adds a pair of breaking balls fronted by his 76-79 MPH SLD which he can vary the shape on to give both true SLD like feel or even flash sweeping like action to it. As well, he has a 69-72 MPH CB he uses as a change of pace pitch to steal strikes or keep hitters off balance. On the spring Fausset threw 39 innings while punching out 41 hitters over 14 appearances working both as a starter and reliever showing potential to handle either spot in the  future. His stuff is strong across the board, but there is still polish needed on his control/command. If he wants to remain a hitter in addition to pitching being a leverage reliever seems a more likely path than starting. Fausset is a name in the '25 class that is a must follow for college programs who has a chance to continue to polish his profile over the coming months headed into his SR. season.
