The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 RHP Christian Garcia from Clairemont High School. Garcia is a strong framed RHP with durability in his profile standing 6'3 230 lbs. with the pitch mix and stuff to profile as a future starter at the college level. Working off a quality FB which at Prep Baseball California's 2023 State Games sat at 83-86 while touching 88 MPH with an average spin rate at 2214 RPMs and has shown this spring in High School baseball to work up to 91 MPH while sitting at 86-89 MPH. Adding in an interesting CHG which he threw at 74-78 MPH at State Games while showing the ability kill spin and get sink with an average spin rate at 1618 RPMs. Garcia also features a CB which was at 68-72 MPH at State Games with an interesting shape while showing potential as he continues to add power to the pitch or he can shift to his SLD which he threw in the similar velocity range. His profile will be helped by picking and polishing 1 of his 2 breaking balls to go with his present quality FB/CHG mix. Overall the frame, delivery, arm action, stuff, feel for the strike zone, pitch mix and ability to continue to improve his frame make Garcia a good '25 starting pitcher to add to recruiting boards for college programs.
College coaches and fans be sure to click on Garcia's profile to see full video and statistics.

Scouting Report
Christian Garcia, Clairemont (CA), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP Garcia uses his body and his legs really well in his delivery, the result are pitches that get on the batter quickly.
Body: 6-3, 230-pounds. Stocky build, tons of power in his legs.
Delivery: leg lift to 90 deg. and then drives and pushes off the back leg to the plate.
Arm Action: RH. Small hitch in the action, brings the arm forward as foot lands to catapult it forward.
FB: T88, 83-86 mph. Plenty of life to the FB, high spin causes little drop. T2435, 2214 average rpm.
CB: 68-72 mph. Late downward break, good chase pitch down and away to RHH. T2242, 2140 average rpm.
CH: 74-75 mph. Speed difference with the FB works well to tunnel. Minor vertical break. T1474, 1441 average rpm.
