Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series takes a dive back into the 2025 class as this class begins its SR. year of High School there are still several talented uncommitted players in this class who figure prominently in our Class of 2025 Rankings.  All players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 158 ranked player in the 2025 class in SoCal '25 RHP Camden Farina from Bonita High School. Checking in with a prototype pitchers build at 6'3 190 lbs. with some present lower body strength and wiry build to his upper body that shows room to still add some more strength to it. His operation on the mound is clean and athletic with good body control while adding a relatively low effort overall operation. Farina does a good job of using his lower half to work down the mound while holding his direction by staying over his lead leg in finish due to an effective ability to block on his front leg. His delivery projects a long term starters profile with a floor of being a high quality reliever.

On the mound Farina overall has a very solid foundation from the righthand side with a quick arm and a 3 pitch mix. His pitching arsenal starts from a FB which at the 2024 SoCal Preaseason All State Upperclass worked at 86-87 MPH showing some sink with run to its movement pattern. In live looks his FB has been up to the 89 MPH range consistently while touching 90 MPH and has room to continue adding more.  During the PSAS Upperclass he spun his SLD at 73-76 MPH while flashing spin above 2400 RPMs at peak with up to 14" of horizontal break giving him and east/west profile to the FB/SLD mix. As good as his FB/SLD combo is Farina adds a deceptive CHG in the 76-78 MPH range during a live look that he threw with FB arm speed with the pitch showing sink/fade to the arm side that tunnels well of his FB. 

Farina was previously committed to UCSB before reopening his recruiting at the end of the 2024 summer. With an athletic delivery, clean quick arm action, feel for a 3 pitch mix that shows an east/west attacking pattern, ability to generate soft contact/miss bats he shows a starters profile. He will be looking to build on a stellar JR. campaign at Bonita High which saw him go 5-2 over 48.1 IP with a 2.90 ERA. Farina punched out 54 hitters over the course of the spring while allowing just 39 hits all season long and hitters hit just .217 against the righthander.
