Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series takes a dive back into the 2025 class as this class is inching closer to their final seasons of High School baseball there are still several talented uncommitted players in this class who our staff has had the opportunity to see compete. Our player today was standout performer at one of our recent Fall Uncommitted Games Series of events in locations around the state including NorCal, Orange County and Ventura County.
We invite you to get to know the players featured here through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a standout from the NorCal Uncommitted Game event for the 2025 class in NorCal '25 RHP Broc McReynolds from Del Oro High School. Entering the event McReynolds was coming off a strong JR. campaign for the Del Oro High School program which saw him toe the for 27 innings in 2024 where punched out 25 hitters while collecting 4 wins on the season with an ERA of 3.63. McReynolds alternated between working as a leverage reliever and a starter for the Golden Eagles which showed his versatility. He possesses some swing/miss potential with his arsenal, but there is polish that will be neeeded on his control/command to minimize traffic on the bases during his SR. campaign.
McReynolds was impressive during his outing in front of our Prep Baseball California staff at the NorCal Uncommitted Game Event. The 5'10 165 lbs. righthander showed off a loose quick arm which has plenty of arm speed for present velocity working at 86-88 MPH consistently while bumping up near 89 MPH in his outing. What jumps out for McReynolds is that his arm speed comes from wiry build which if he can add strength to his body he will add velocity to his FB while improving his ability to control the arm path and control of his FB to increase his potential as a live armed righthander. Backing up his intriguing FB is a 74-78 MPH SLD which shows horizontal action with its movement pattern giving it a true SLD shape and can play off his FB which shows ride/run to the arm side the SLD gives him a glove side moving pitch to work both halves of the plate. His physical build, arsenal and present control/command may suit him best for a leverage reliever role in the future at the next level, but should he make the necessary development gains there is potential for him to potential start.
With his SR. campaign quickly approaching McReynolds is a talented arm out of NorCal that college programs should be keeping eyes on for additions to their pitching staff. Whether in a leverage reliever role or possibly starter in the future a program landing McReynolds should get a quality arm to bolster their programs future.
