Ventura, Calif. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series takes a dive back into the 2025 class as this class begins its SR. year of High School there are still several talented uncommitted players in this class who figure prominently in our Class of 2025 Rankings.  All players featured within our Uncommitted Spotlight series are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Swift Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 239 ranked player in the 2025 class in SoCal '25 OF Tristan Jennings from Granada Hills Charter High School. Jennings cuts a wiry athletic frame at 5'11 165 lbs. that shows room to fill in the future. His athleticism is strong including a 6.96 60 with a 1.78 10 yard split and 3.98 30 yard split while reaching a top speed of 19.9 MPH. He shows good actions moving around the OF with solid footwork in his first step, routes to the ball in the air/ground and present arm strength/accuracy (89 MPH OF arm velocity) to his throws that give him potential to play in CF or RF long term.

While his potential to handle the top two defensive spots in the OF he presents an interesting RH hitting profile. His operation at the plate during batting practice and game play is simple and consistent. He starts from a wider set up with a small load and ear height hands with a simple barrel tip load while showing a consistent feel for his timing and approach. He leverage in a slightly uphill path that plays from the oppo gap to pull side line with hard line drive contact as he has showcased in batting practice and in game. Jennings has present quality swing metrics including hand speed up to 20 MPH with present bat speed at 70.7 MPH while adding some torque in his turn with 10.4 G's of rotational acceleration. His athleticism and quality swing combine into good batted ball data from Trackman including a max exit velocity up to 94.6 MPH while averaging 81.9 MPH. Jennings's leverage in the swing presents a gap to gap doubles with sneaky pull side HR power profile including a max distance of 332' to the pull side while flashing feel for the sweet spot with a 64% rate.

As he prepares for his SR. campaign this fall/winter to compete for a prominent role in the lineup at Granada HIlls Charter which is a consistent top of the City Section level program looking to build on their 4-peat of league titles in which Jennings should play a big role in their success and continue to flash his arrow up profile as a talented uncommitted '25.
