All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 OF/RHP Cole Hoffman from Del Norte High School. With an athletic build at 6'1 175 lbs frame that has room to continue adding strength and a Corner OF defense profile, LH bat and interesting potential on the mound. Shows an accurate 85 MPH OF arm with some carry to his throws that can project potential for either OF corner. He has a quality swing in the LH batters box with a medium leg lift out of an open stance and quiet hands in the load process once he gets to the launch position. Once he gets the foot down Hoffman takes a quick direct swing with some quickness to bat speed (71.4 MPH max) and his hand speed shows potential (19.5 MPH max), with present torque in the the turn (18.9 G's of rotational acceleration) with a bat path that shows leverage through the middle of the field. His raw power has potential reaching 91.7 MPH on his max exit velocity with solid hard contact (82.3 MPH average exit velocity) and sneaky impact to pull side (345' max batted ball distance) for our staff at the Prep Baseball California Preseason All-State Upperclass event. A solid LH hitting OF prospect Hoffman raises his profile with his ability on the mound where he shows a 4 pitch mix with 3 of them showing solid ability. He works off a FB in the 83-85 MPH range that touches 86 with some arm side run to it. Adds in a solid SLD that is 72-73 with present spin rates above 2200 RPMs, a developing CHG he throws at 79-80, but shows some feel to kill the spin on it with 1400 RPM range rates and has a CB in the 72-74 MPH range that has slightly more vertical break than his SLD. With solid defensively ability, an intriguing offensive profile from the LH side and the potential for him on the mound Hoffman is a name to know in the '25 class for college programs.
