The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 OF/LHP Trevor Smith from Granite Hills High School. Returning to Southern California with an athletic, compact framed switch hitter who shows the ability to play CF and has potential on the bump. With athleticism in his running stride and 5'9 155 lbs. frame Smith looks the part of a solid defender in CF who has the arm strength at 86 MPH from the OF to potentially even play RF. At the plate it's a line drive swing with quickness to the hand path and bat speed to deliver impact. Smith stays through the baseball well with the ability to spray the ball from line to line and allow his speed to help him turn hits into extra bases. As he matures there is potential to add additional strength to his smaller frame which would help him to generate more leverage/carry to the pull side of the field and tap into potentially more impact. He has displayed a quality 3 pitch mix from the LH side on the bump, but did not throw in his workout for Prep Baseball California staff. An interesting profile with athleticism, switch hitting ability, potential premium defensive position profile with some upside on the mound Smith will be one for college programs to add to their '25 follow lists and keep eyes on as he continues to develop.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on Smith's profile to see full video and statistics.
