The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 OF Lamont Bufford Jr. from Leroy Greene Academy. With a compact athletic build at  5'8 153 lbs frame with wiry strength to him and a CF defensive profile and intriguing LH bat. His 6.86 speed in the 60 with burst (1.67 10 yard burst) and impressive run speed (20 MPH run speed) while flashing 82 MPH OF arm velocity with his throws. Hit: LHH. Traditional width stance with very slightly open set-up, hands over shoulder, barrel flat prior to tilt and compact quiet load, medium high leg lift out to in-line stride, clears hips, can make stride adjustments which shows pitch recognition skills, quick hands, works inside ball, quiet head, strong barrel control skills, sneaky juice given his size. 64.7 mph avg bat speed with 11.6 avg G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90.7 max exit velocity, 86.6 mph avg. 336' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 82 mph. Mid-thigh backside depth, clean arm action, quick arm, quick release with near bag accuracy allowing tagger to make a play, one hops.
Defense: Aggressive and decisive to ball, strong crow hop, uses body to max out arm strength, footwork and range along with early reads suggest above average defender.
