The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 LHP/OF Seth Coria out of Santiago High School in Corona. With a good frame at 6' 190 lbs. with some present strength to it and good overall actions Coria shows potential on both sides of the game that will draw interest from college coaches. On the mound he has a quick arm with a loose arm action that projects to continue adding velocity while showing good feel for using his lower 1/2 when working down the mound. Working off a 3 pitch mix with a intriguing FB that sits at 84-86 MPH and will touch 87 in short stints with room to add more as he matures. The FB shows arm side run and he can ride it at the top of the zone or work down at the knees. His offspeed mix is a strong CHG at 74-78 MPH which he shows good feel for with fade to the arm side playing well of his FB and SLD in the 70-74 MPH range. Coria works best with the FB/CHG mix for a lot of soft contact from hitters, but sharpening his SLD will allow him to miss more bats and give him the potential to start long term. His LH swing and actions in the OF project a future corner OF prospect who can add power to a lineup. Works from an upright stance with a leg kick and showing a whippy fast bat with lift in the path which plays to his pull side approach. He gets up to 103.3 MPH on his max exit velocity while averaging 95.7 MPH and the power plays in game. There is some chance for swing and miss with the approach, but with the present power from the LH side and his arm strength from the OF Coria could be an intriguing potential RF defender with power at the plate. Whether you like him on the mound, in the OF/batter's box or doing both Coria should be on college coaches '25 recruiting boards as a high follow this spring/summer.
College coaches and fans be sure to click on Coria's profile to see full video and statistics.
