The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 INF Jack West from Clovis North High School.  With an imposing 6'3 195 lbs. frame West passes the eye test for an impact corner profile player. At the plate the RH hitter stands out for his ability to hit the baseball with impact consistently where he has showed a 98.1 MPH max exit velocity and an average exit velocity at 95 MPH during Prep Baseball California events. He generates leverage through his path which allows him to drive baseball in the air with a middle to pull side approach. The swing itself shows well metrically with quickness to his hands/bat path and torque in the turn. West profiles best to play 1B if he stays on the dirt as his actions with his feet/hands play the best on the right side of the dirt, but could potentially play LF and has experience catching in the past. Overall the profile on the corners with impact potential in his bat shows well with strength in his frame and playing the competitive Central Valley region of California should have college programs paying attention to him for their '25 recruiting class as an offensive piece for their lineups.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on West's profile to see full video and statistics.
