The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 C Ian Stewart of out Summit High School. A physical frame at 6'2 200 lbs Stewart provides an interesting profile as a strong offensive prospect who shows solid ability to stick at a premium defensive position. At the plate Stewart shows a natural feel to drive the baseball in the air with authority from a swing that features balance with a good sequence to the operation and present bat speed. Flashes pull side power with impact to the middle of the field including exit velocities up to 93.3 MPH, 358' max distance and a sweet spot rate of 80%. With the strength in his frame, bat path, swing metrics and batted ball data Stewart has the potential to be a middle of the order offensive threat. The offensive profile is enticing with Stewart, but he shows solid actions behind the plate with mobility in his hips, a good glove with feel for pitch presentation and a fringe average arm with accuracy on his throws to stay behind the plate long term. If a move is necessary he has the athletic ability to profile on an INF corner at 1B/3B which could see his bat take another jump with the reduced rigor of catching allowing him to tap into potentially more hit and power. Overall, Stewart will be a good '25 follow for college programs as a potential offensive impact backstop.
