The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 C/3B Javier Ramirez from Jesuit High School. Ramirez has a wiry athletic frame with some present strength to it at 51 176 lbs and shows the actions behind the plate to stay there long term while adding versatility as a solid 3B defender. With a direct RH swing that shows quickness and strength in the hand path at 21.9 MPH hand speed with some torque generated in the turn showing 13.9 G's of rotational acceleration. Chavez has shown sneaky raw power at Prep Baseball California events with a max exit velocity at 90.7 MPH with a consistent ability to deliver the barrel accurately averaging 86.5 MPH that will play as doubles power to the middle of the park. The arm shows potential behind the plate with a clean transfer, 77 MPH C arm velocity with consistent pop times in the 2.0-2.05 range with carry and tends to be on the bag to 1B side. Shows solid glove work and feel to present pitches effectively. Ramirez has had a solid spring so far in the NorCal high school ranks hitting .317 with 3 doubles and a HR while adding a .404 OBP with 5 BBs to 3 Ks. College programs who are looking for quality defensive options behind the plate in the '25 class with offensive upside that can add length to a lineup should add Ramirez to their recruiting boards and keep tabs on him the rest of this spring/summer headed into his SR year next fall.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on Ramirez's profile to see full video and statistics.
