The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.
We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.
Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 1B/LHP Josh Stonehouse out of Crespi Carmelite High School. A physically well built 1B prospect who shows present strength at 6'1 205 lbs with the solid athletic ability. Stonehouse is an intriguing LH hitting profile who shows a good feel for hitting with an up the middle approach and consistent feel for finding his barrel. He can drive the baseball with impact to the gaps with a flatter swing plane that will consistently produce a lot of hard contact. His frame has the strength to add loft to his swing path and look to turn on the ball which would tap into his power potential. Overall, he looks the part of an above average hit tool LH hitter who should flash at least average power, but has potential for more. A solid defender who has decent feet with sure hands at 1B, but does have the athletic ability to potentially slot in LF. No matter where Stonehouse lands defensively his bat should add length to a college lineup with impact potential. College coaches should be keeping an eye on an Stonehouse as an intriguing LH bat for their '25 class.
