Uncommitted Spotlight: '24 SS/OF Jeremiah Vargas

Steven Hardesty

The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we wind down the '23 calendar and look towards the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season by taking a look at some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. This group of players is pulled directly from our '24 Rankings. They remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior seasons.

We invite you to get to know them through their data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on '24 SS/OF Jeremiah Vargas out of Eastlake HS in San Diego. The 5'11 195lbs. Vargas has strength in both is upper and lower body, but still maintains quickness and athleticism in his baseball skills. He stands out at the plate with loose quick hands while incorporating his hips and lower 1/2 to generate above average power with 97.1 MPH exit velocity. A fluid defender with quick rhythmic feet and the actions in his hands/transfer to stick up the middle on the INF dirt. Arm shows fringe average strength, but his transfer to throw is quick and focused on accuracy projecting potentially additional arm strength. Vargas should be one college coaches are taking a look at for finishing up the '24 INF recruiting needs.
