The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '24 RHP Caden Roth out of Foothill High School. Roth comes with a projectable long lean frame at 6'7 190 lbs. with long levers that profiles to continue adding strength as he matures. Uses a leg lift to about belly button height with good rhythm in his hands and moves down the mound with lower effort. Stride is shorter with a whippy quick arm that shows depth in the back swing with looseness to the path. Doesn't fully use his lower 1/2 currently which could help him take the next steps in developing his overall potential/polish as a pitcher. Presently his stuff shows interesting abilty with a FB up to 85 MPH with 97% spin efficiency with arm side life/run from his high 3/4 arm slot. CB works in the 69.7 to 74.3 MPH range which alters shapes between one with a softer loopier break and one with a sharper break that flashes potential to be a swing/miss offering. Adds a CHG as his third offering which shows interesting potential with present velocity at 72.8 to 75 MPH with 89% spin efficiency and similar movement patterns to his FB, but needs to polish his feel for. Roth is a good athlete who repeats his delivery well with lower effort which should give him a chance to start going forward. With a high ceiling to his potential as pitcher Roth is a solid arm currently with a chance to be really good as he continues to improve. Really interesting late grab for a 4-year program or a could who could raise his stock greatly as a JUCO recruit.
