The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we wind down the '23 calendar and look towards the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season by taking a look at some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. This group of players is pulled directly from our '24 Rankings. They remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior seasons.

Today, we look at '24 INF/OF Aidan Buntich who is ranked 144th in the '24 class from a strong West Ranch High School program. Buntich stands out in the box where his RH swing is loose with good bat speed with exit velocities up to 96 MPH. He moves well on the dirt with good footwork and enough arm strength to handle the left side of the INF. His arm strength plays better from the OF where he gets up to 91 MPH on his throws with accuracy. Buntich presents a good offensive profile with the athletic ability and actions to be a versatile defender. College programs looking to upgrade their offense should have Buntich on their board.

Positional Profile: MIF/OF An easy swing that creates tons of pop paired with a low 7s 60 gives Buntich tons of upside.
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Athletic build, moves really well.
Hit: RHH. Bat knob angled back towards the catcher, feet slightly offset Toe taps into a long stride. Big load with a quick trigger. 71.3 mph bat speed with 17 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 83.8 mph. 377' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-83 mph. OF-91 mph. Clean arm path with tons of zip from the OF.
Defense: Does a good job on positioning the body as the ball arrives to him.
ATH: 7.14 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 3.97 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
