The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a '24 3B/1B Jamie Mullin out of NorCal power program De La Salle. Mullin is a physically well built corner INF prospect checking in at 6'3 205 lbs. with good athleticism for his size that will help him project to stay on the INF dirt, although he could play an OF corner if necessary. Runs well for his size 7.01 top 60 time while showing good burst 1.69 second 10 yard time. The profile is carried by his offensive impact potential as a power hitting Corner INF with loud impact. Will flash exit velocities up to 100.5 MPH, but even more impressive is his avg. exit velocity coming in at 96.2 MPH in workouts with lift in the path getting to 378' max distance. The swing starts from a small leg lift as he gets into his back side early to help him track the pitch with rhythm. Hips are quick in the turn while keeping his hands back before pulling the trigger to swing. Hands show good speed up to 22.3 MPH, but the bat speed is explosive from his physical strength peaking at 81.7 MPH with balance in the finish allowing him to stay behind the baseball with his body prior to contact. The profile offensively trends more towards power impact, but he does show feel for the barrel consistently that should help him have at least a fringe average/average hit tool. The feet are quick with good hands into a quick transfer at 3B while showing rhythm moving laterally/downhill to stick at the hot corner with a solid average arm over there. Power profile on an INF corner who could slot into the middle of a college lineup in the future make Mullin a good grab for either a 4-year or JUCO program.
