The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '24 1B Ryan Prescott out of Buena Park High School in Orange County. With a thick build and strength in his frame at 6'4 230 lbs. Prescott looks the part of the power hitting 1B. A solid athlete for his size with a 7.4 60 time and good burst off that combined with his footwork/hands will be at least an average defender at 1B. His profile is carried by the loud power in his RH bat. With impressive metrics across the board including a max exit velocity up to 107.7 with lift in his swing path has shown a max distance at 401' while showing the consistent feel for his barrel by averaging 97.8 MPH on his exit velocities. The swing itself is compact with strength through the zone and even when he mishits a ball it comes off loud and hard. With strength in his hands and quickness he relies on them to do most of the work, but shows the balance in his lower 1/2 with a good turn to tap into the full strength of his physical body. Prescott profiles as a power with feel to hit 1B/DH who will add impact to a lineup through his ability to drive the baseball. With polish to his approach he could be a high OBP/SLG guy. If a 4-year college program or JUCO is looking to add power to their lineup in the '24 class Prescott should be a follow for them this spring.
