After seeing nearly 200 of the top players in the state of California across our SoCal Preseason All State Upper/Under class events and NorCal Preseason All State event we are taking a look a back at some of the top uncommitted players to know by position. 

Players at each event participated in a showcase-style workout with athletic testing, on field batting practice, defensive workouts, and bullpen sessions. During the workout portion of the event players had the opportunity to let their tools shine on video and build their database of metrics through Prep Baseball California's use of Swift Technologies, Blast Motion swing trackers, and Trackman technology for batted ball data and pitch tracking. While in our SoCal event the players competed in a controlled scrimmage with game play after the showcase workout.

We start by looking at the standout uncommitted catchers from the 3 events. The 10 names on this list (not in any order) represent some of the top names to know in the state of California.

Luke Bacon C / Arlington, CA / 2027 LH hitting backstop who shows a good bat with pop and the actions/arm strength to stick behind the plate.

Codey Brown C / Ayala , CA / 2027 Toolsy advanced backstop with athleticism, wiry strength, impact offensive potential to go with impact defensive profile.

Michael Nonis C / Centennial, CA / 2026 Advanced LH hitter who shows high offensive ability with the strong potential to stick behind the plate with good receiving/blocking/throwing skills.

Luke Severns C / Etiwanda , CA / 2026 Another good LH hitting backstop who shows good ability at the plate with the actions to be a solid defender.

Carter Enoch C / Santa Margarita, CA / 2025 Flashes power from the RH side offensively with the actions/arm strength and feel to be a solid backstop.

Daniel Troncale C / Servite , CA / 2025 Advanced hitter who shows hit and power tools who has a strong defensive profile with the ability to stick behind the plate.

Giovanni Castaing C / Novato, CA / 2027 An advanced backstop for the '27 class with arm strength, feel to receive and all topped off with impact offensive potential.

Hudson Hall C / Elk Grove High, CA / 2026 Strong framed backstop who shows power at the plate with consistent hit tool. Profiles as a potential impact defender with arm strength, feel to receive/block and frame to handle catching.

Ryan Hubbard C / Oak Ridge High, CA / 2026 Another advanced backstop who shows above average tools across the board defensively and offensively with plus potential. Impact potential on both sides of the game.

Ethan Johnson C / The King's Academy, CA / 2025 Physical LH hitting catcher who shows impact in the offensive profile with solid defensive actions in receiving, blocking and throwing.
