EMERSON, GA - The 2024 JuniorFuture Games is now under way with the team workout day ahead of another edition of the top underclass event in the country. Team California is once again comprised of some of the best underclass prospects from the 2028 & 2029 classes in the Golden State. 

Action continues tomorrow with game play, but today players were put through a series of scout style workouts and tested on athleticism and mental processing. Partners for the showcase day and the entire event include Vizual Edge, Blast Motion, TrackMan, Swift Performance, and S2 Cognition. All of these partners culminate a full data profile on every aspect of their game for each player to take home.

Games for Team California include matchups with Team Tennessee Thursday, Team Midwest Friday and Team Missouri Sunday then headed into playoff brackets on Sunday. Stay up to date with all of our coverage on X and Instagram as well as game recaps every night.

While all players put together strong workout performances to begin their Junior Future Games experience these 5 players stood out for their work today.

Ethan Miller SS / 2B / Centennial , CA / 2028

The future Centennial High School middle of the diamond defender showed his athleticism across the board with a strong defensive workout and flashing barrel control during the batting practice session.

Aiden Vargas 1B / LHP / Palos Verdes, CA / 2028

The smooth swinging LH hitter who heads to Palos Verdes High School looked very good with several loud drives off the barrel during batting practice before flashing consistently smooth actions at 1B and will be one of the top arms on the Team California staff.

Julian Suarez C / OF / WOODCREST CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SYSTEM, CA / 2028

Suarez who is headed to play for Woodcrest Christian as 2028 C was one of the top performers at the Rising Stars game with his blast to LCF and carried it into a tremendous batting practice session before flashing his interesting potential behind the plate during defensive work.

Nathan Englander RHP / OF / SIERRA CANYON SCHOOL, CA / 2029

One of the youngest players on Team California Englander was solid across the board with hard contact off the barrel throughout his batting practice session and demonstrating clean hands/footwork and arm accuracy at 1B during defensive work and will toe the rubber for Team California.

Milo Benattar 3B / RHP / Sierra Canyon, CA / 2028

Benattar took one of the best batting practices with power to the pull side and feel to drive the ball in the air consistently off the barrel of the bat while showing good actions with an accurate arm during the infield workout and is another 2-way standou who will toe the rubber for Team California during game play.
