Sacramento, Calif.- This past weekend Prep Baseball California continued the fall slate of events with a trip to Northern California for the NorCal Uncommitted Game. With athletes from the '25-'27 class coming together to participate in a showcase workout and then live game action on the campus of Consumnes River College in Sacramento.

The day got started with a Pro-Style showcase workout for all position players/two-way players in attendance. Players received athletic testing on the Swift platforms including 10-30-60 yard sprint times and RSI/Vertical Jump testing. Blast Motion sensors were in use for all batting practice swings to collect swing metric data while Trackman technologies provided the Prep Baseball California staff with batted ball data on each player throughout the batting practice portion. As well, players worked out at their positions during the defensive portion of the workout to collect arm strength velocities while evaluating actions of each player defensively. At the conclusion of the workout the 11 pitchers in attendance stepped on the mound to face 5 hitters each in simulated live game play which gave our staff a look at the in game hitting, defense, pitching and base-running abilities of the players in performance.

Today, we will be taking a look at a few of the top performers from NorCal Uncommitted Game event. For all information on all players attending the NorCal Uncommitted Game event please click here to view the data gathered throughout the event.

NORCAL UNCOMMITTED GAME TOP PERFORMERS:

Myles Cooper 2B / 3B / Benicia High, CA / 2025

If we had decided to award an MVP for the event Cooper would have been the front runner for it. The 6' 180 lbs INF from NorCal showed off his tool set during the workout portion including an impact bat which peaked at 98.3 MPH on exit velocity while averaging 94.5 MPH with an 86% sweet spot rate and a 359' max distance. He gets there with present bat speed 73.7 MPH, hand speed 21.3 MPH and a 100% hard hit rate during batting practice. He shows a 2B/3B defensive profile with good feet, hands and an accurate arm. Once the game play portion started Cooper took it up a level with a pair of well struck extra base hits to the RCF gap including an easy stand up triple while making a pair of impressive plays at 2B. Offensive impact with a INF defensive profile and feel to play in game Cooper is going to be a great grab for a college program.

Diego Delventhal SS / 2B / Piedmont High, CA / 2026

Delventhal checks in as a 5'10 165 lbs. switch hitting INF with a well rounded profile that doesn't jump off the page with any one tool, but his collection of tools combined with the ability to play in game Delventhal caught the eyes of our staff at the event. During BP he showed off a quick compact swing from both sides of the plate showing rotational acceleration up to 19.4 Gs with quickness in his hands at 22.1 and in the bat at 69.6 MPH. He is accurate with the barrel from both sides of the plate showing a line drive stroke through the middle of the field. Delventhal peaked at 89.4 MPH on EV, but averaged 86.5 MPH on EV with a 70% sweet spot rate. He moved well on the INF dirt with good hands, feet and arm potential. He flashes a SS potential, but will need to improve his athleticism to stick, but can play 2B/3B. In game he drilled a double to the LCF gap while playing solid defense throughout. A name to know in the '26 class.

Justin Gregory RHP / C / Angelo Rodriguez High, CA / 2027

One of the younger players in attendance Gregory had no problem holding his own amongst the predominantly older competition. Standing 6' 180 lbs. with an athletic build he looked good behind the dish during the workout and game play portion. Gregory had an event best 78 MPH C arm velocity with a 2.02-2.08 pop time range which played in game when he made a nice dig on a ball in the dirt and nearly nailed a runner who was stealing with his arm talent. During BP Gregory showed off an impressive RH hitting profile with 75 MPH bat speed, 21.1 MPH hand speed and 16 G's of rotational acceleration which combined with a good feel for his approach put up good batted ball data. On Trackman Gregory reached 92.5 MPH on his EV with an average of 85.8 MPH. Not just an impressive hitter during BP Gregory showed his hit tool with impact during the game play portion when he stung a single and triple to the RCF gap. A rising prospect out of NorCal Gregory is a name to keep close eyes on.

Drew Hamburger SS / 3B / Homestead High, CA / 2026

Hamburger quickly catches your eye with a strongly built 6'2 185 lbs. frame that has athleticism to it in his actions running a 7.08 60 that combined with an accurate 83 MPH INF arm velocity projects to stay on the left side of the dirt long term. As impressive as what Hamburger did during athletic testing and defensive work was when he stepped in for BP he showed his intriguing offensivre profile. Using a quick RH swing with present bat speed up to 72.6 MPH with quickness in his hands at 20.6 MPH while adding torque at 18.3 Gs of rotational acceleration which combined with his feel to hit generated some very good batted ball data. Hamburger peaked at 91.7 MPH on EV, but averaged 88.7 MPH showing consistency to barreling the baseball with authority a 75% sweet spot rate. During game play he drew a walk in one plate appearance before stinging a single to LF in his other trip to the plate. Keep your eyes on Hamburger as he heads into his JR. campaign at Homestead.

Beau Blake SS / 2B / Hughson High, CA / 2025

On a day that featured some impressive displays on offensive ability during batting practice no one put together a louder showcase of his offensive potential then Blake. A 6'1 182 lbs. INF from the Central Valley area in Hughson Blake backed up his performance at CA State Games with what he did at Consumnes River College on this day. During BP the RH hitter repeatedly launched HR after HR to the pull side while showing the ability to drive the baseball through the middle of the field, as well. His swing operation is explosive with 28 MPH hand speed, 80 MPH peak bat speed (averaged 75.2 MPH) with a peak of 33.4 Gs of rotational acceleration that averaged 29.7 Gs on Blast. His explosive swing combines with a good feel for his approach that produced the loudest Trackman date with a 100.9 MPH peak EV that averaged 95.3 MPH with a 100 % Fly ball/Line drive rate with identical 91% hard hit and sweet spot rates. Blake showed athleticism during testing with a 6.98 60 time which has burst at 1.65 seconds for his 10 yard split that should give him a chance to potentially play 2B/LF/CF where is arm strength profiles best. Loud offensive potential with athletic ability and room to polish his profile Blake will be a great land for a program that pulls the trigger on his profile.

Broc McReynolds RHP / Del Oro High, CA / 2025

The righthander out of Del Oro posted an event best 88 MPH FB which sat at 85-87 MPH from a compact frame (5'10 160 lbs.) with quickness to his arm speed. The ball shows life downhill which if he can polish his feel for attacking the bottom of the zone and gaining strength to his frame should add more life to his FB it could be a power sinker FB which already generated plenty of ground ball contact during his outing at this event. He paired it with a downward breaking 74-78 MPH SLD which has more depth than horizontal which could give him two heavy downward action pitches if he can add life/spin to the SLD as he matures. McReynolds is athletic in his delivery with a very good foundation of a 2 pitch arsenal that has leverage reliever with starter potential (adding a 3rd pitch will improve this possibility) that makes him an intriguing grab for a college program.

Rahul Patel RHP / 1B / Valley Christian High School, CA / 2026

A low slot righthander out of the Central Valley Patel showed off an intriguing pitch arsenal during his outing at Consumnes River. Standing 5'11 165 lbs. Patel works from a low 3/4 to almost side arm slot while throwing his FB at 83-85 MPH with nearly 15" of horizontal run to the arm side to bury it in on RH hitters hands which when paired with his 72-75 MPH SLD which he spins above the 2500 RPM range consistently gives him a east/west attack profile to handle both RH and LH hitters. Patel lacks some feel for his control at present, but the life on his pitches is there and if he can polish his overall feel to pitch while continuing to trend up with his stuff there is plenty to like about this '26 RHP.

Braden Ford RHP / 1B / Livermore High, CA / 2026

Ford was another intriguing '26 arm who showed off a 2 pitch mix with a good present foundation. Standing 6'2 195 lbs. he has a prototype pitchers build with quickness in his arm speed and ability to repeat his delivery. He attacked hitters to generate heavy ground ball contact with his 85-87 MPH FB that he attacks downhill with to get under hitters barrels. Mixing in a short breaking 76-78 MPH SLD which he threw for strikes giving him an east/west attack pattern that shows potential. With a good frame, solid delivery, foundation of a pitch arsenal, feel for the strike zone and room to add Ford is a name to keep eyes on out of NorCal for the '26 class.

AJ Cabral RHP / 1B / Benicia, CA / 2026

Cabral is another Benicia product who showed very well for himself at this event as a 2-way prospect. The '26 RH hitter put together a very good performance during BP showing hand speed and acceleration in his swing with 23.3 MPH of hand speed and 23.2 Gs of rotational acceleration with quickness to his swing at 71.7 MPH on bat speed. He flashes the ability to generate hard contact including a max EV at 93.5 MPH while averaging 86.8 MPH with a 78% sweet spot rate. Moving well at 1B he shows plenty of reason to like his offensive profile, but he adds even more intrigue when he steps on the mound. With a projectable 6'4 195 lbs. frame Cabral works off a FB at 84-86 MPH with the ability to ride the pitch above barrels up in the zone (2500+ RPM spin rates and 14.7" of IVB) while mixing in a 75-78 MPH CB he throws with vertical break at spin rates above 2400 RPMs that shows plenty of potential. He rounds out his arsenal with a 79-80 MPH CHG which he throws with conviction while showing feel to kill the spin on the pitch that generates arm side fade. Cabral attacked the zone consistently and had no fear of going inside on RH hitters to get soft contact. There is plenty to like about this rising '26 from the NorCal region.

Jace Bernard RHP / 1B / Heritage High, CA / 2025

Bernard was another impressive 2-way righthander who shows offensive potential as 1B. With a 6'3 185 lbs. frame that has some present strength with room to fill out his RH swing showed well during BP. He reached 91.6 MPH on EV with a 100% Fly Ball/Line Drive rate and a 70% sweet spot rate from a RH swing which shows well on Blast with hand speed up to 23.2 MPH and 20.8 Gs of Rotational Acceleration. As good as Bernard looks a RH hitter what he showed on the mound was equally if not more impressive. His FB sat at 82-85 MPH with heavy downhill action that got under barrels which when paired with a deceptive 74-77 MPH CHG he throws with FB arm speed that got soft contact/whiff and shows an interesting 68-73 MPH CB with vertical depth to its shape that he can polish to make a 3rd quality offering. Bernard punched out 2 hitters in a strong 5 batter look.
