Los Angeles, Calif. - Each week during the high school season we will announce the NorCal Pitcher and Player of the Week covering the action from the previous week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on recommendations from high school coaches from Northern California. 

Continuing from previous seasons, we will also be highlighting others players from across the state in our Prep Baseball California Diamond Notes that will be released weekly. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Pitcher of Player of the Week. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

In NorCal JR. RHP/OF Mitchell Clements out of Del Campo High School had a fantastic outing with a complete game shutout win over Capital Christian. A complete game shutout on its own merits would put a pitcher in the mix for a Pitcher of the Week award, but Clements put the cherry on top of his performance sundae by punching out 14 hitters in his win, which by his coaches note is very likely a school record although there was no certainity to it.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rising SO. C/DH Ryan Hubbard out of Oak Ridge High School put together quite the week going 6 for 10 at the plate. In those 6 hits 4 of them went for extra bases with 2 of them being doubles, 2 of them being homeruns and driving in 3 runs. The performance out of Hubbard helped Oak Ridge collect 2 big wins in a 3 game series against Granite Bay. Hubbard is an impressive '26 grad who is going to be on plenty of college coaches radars in advance of the Aug. 1st contact window opening on his grad class.
