Game Preview:  The top two teams in the Tri-River league face off in a battle of Clovis High School power programs with identical 18-5 records. The Golden Eagles feature a dynamic offensive lineup which is averaging over 7.8 runs per game for a total of 180 runs in just 23 games this spring. While sporting a pitching staff which has allowed just 66 runs over 23 games this spring. For their part the Cougars come in with an impressive lineup which has plated 144 runs ove their 23 games for a 6.3 per game average while allowing 90 runs at just slightly under 4 runs per game. The Cougars feature 5 regulars hitting over .300 on the spring lead by SR. Leal at .416 with 29 runs scored, 7 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run while JR. Kasten has hit .380 with 9 doubles and 1 triple and JR. Davis has driven in 25 runs on the spring to lead the team. Kasten also lead the trio of Cougar arms with 50.1 innings, 54 Ks and 6 wins while SO. Efrid follows him up with 35 innings pitched, a 1.00 ERA and 5 wins of his own. On the Golden Eagles side they have 6 regulars over .300 with 2 of them over .400 lead by SR. Patrick with a .413 avg., 9 doubles and 5 HRs which leads the team and SR. Peraza is at .432 to lead the team in average while 3 doubles and 1 HR of his own. Patrick has been as dynamic or possibly better on the mound with 36.1 innings pitched, 51 punchouts, 5 wins and a .58 ERA with SR. Turley at 36.2 innings pitched striking out 38 with 6 wins and a .76 ERA.
