Fullerton, Calif.- This past weekend was the 6th annual edition of the California State Games the premier Invite-Only event in California was hosted at Fullerton College. This event brought together top players from the '25-'28 class together in one location to conclude the summer schedule across California wraps up before the start of school and the fall events schedule.

The collection of talent that was on display in Orange County for the CA State Games was quite impressive. The weekend got started with a Pro-Style showcase workout for all position players/two-way players in attendance. Players received athletic testing on the Swift platforms including 10-30-60 yard sprint times and RSI/Vertical Jump testing. Blast Motion sensors were in use for all batting practice swings to collect swing metric data while Trackman technologies provided the Prep Baseball California staff with batted ball data on each player throughout the batting practice portion. As well, players worked out at their positions during the defensive portion of the workout to collect arm strength velocities while evaluating actions of each player defensively. At the conclusion of the workout the 8 teams (organized by Prep Baseball California staff) would each play two 8-inning simulated games (5 batters per inning) spanning 8 total games over the 3 day event to give our Prep Baseball California staff an extensive opportunity to continue to build their in-game evaluations of the players in attendance at the CA State Games.

Today, we will be taking a look at top performers from the '25 graduating class across the 8 games of game play action. The 8 teams in the event each played two separate 8-inning simulated games with pitchers facing 5 batters per inning. Position players moved around defensively and all received 6+ at bats over the course of the two games with most having around 8 at bats to showcase their offensive/defensive tools in game action.

CA STATE GAMES TOP PERFORMERS FROM THE '25 CLASS:

Tomas Bilvado RHP / 3B / San Marino High, CA / 2025

In an event that feautred several very impressive two-way performances the weekend out of Bilvado stood atop the pack. Standing with a wiry athletic 5'11 165 lbs. frame Bilvado swung a hot bat all weekend including drilling a pair of triples showing off his athleticism getting around the bases while adding a pair of singles. He played stellar defense around the infield showing his versatility. Then Bilvado took it to another level when he toed the rubber featuring a FB that topped out at 88 MPH while pitching at 85-87 MPH. He adds to his pitch mix an intriguing SLD at 74-77 MPH with spin rates above 2800 RPMs at its peak and for good measure feel for a 77-79 MPH CHG. He threw 3 innings and punched out 7 hitters while allowing 1 run. It was an overall very impressive weekend for the San Marino High product.

Ayden Munoz OF / 2B / Carlsbad, CA / 2025

Munoz entered the CA State Games as an interesting LH hitting OF/INF who showed his ability to hit at a high level was as advertised. He put together an impressive workout to start the event, but once game play started the 5'9 175 lbs. athletic Munoz raised his game to the competition he was facing. He unloaded in his first at bat of the weekend for a HR to the pull side and that was far from the only barrel Munoz would collect all weekend as he added multiple hits and multiple SBs to his stat line over the course of the 2 games. As strong as his offensive performance was he showcased his athletic ability and defensive versatility by playing quality defense at all 3 OF positions and even stepped on the INF dirt to show potential to play 2B at the next level. Munoz stamped his potential as one of the better uncommitted '25s in attendance.

Reagan Samples 1B / RHP / Los Osos, CA / 2025

Samples was well known for his LH hitting prowess heading into the event and put on a performance both at the plate and on the mound to rival that of Bilvado. A strong framed 1B his bat can absolutely carry the offensive performance needed by a future 1B at the college level. He blasted a pair of triples during the first game of the weekend and then for good measure came back in the second game to blast a double giving him 3 extra base hits for the weekend. In addition he played stellar defense at 1B including a nifty pick of a tough short hop throw to help pick up an out. Before the weekend commenced Samples toed the rubber showing his feel for a 82-85 MPH FB that peaked at 86 MPH with ability to attack the zone. Pairing his FB with 72-76 MPH SLD with a 74 MPH CHG. Samples throws all 3 pitches for strikes and has feel for the strike zone and pitched a strong 2 innings during game play. Another very good uncommitted '25 who stamped his ability to help a college program.

Noah Haros SS / 3B / Orange Lutheran, CA / 2025

Haros has been a consistent game performer for Prep Baseball California including his appearance at the SoCal Preseason All State Upperclass this past January and he matched that performance with his work at CA State Games. Haros played all over the diamond showing solid defensive ability at a variety of corner defensive positions including 1B/3B and the OF. Where Haros did his most impressive work came in the LH batters box with multiple hits over the course of 2 days and showed feel to hit both the FB and offspeed pitches. In addition multiple of the balls he put in play during the weekend came at 95+ MPH exit velocities. Programs on the looks for LH hitters with impact would be wise to circle Haros name as an uncommitted '25 who can help their programs.

Trevor Banning SS / RHP / Santa Margarita Catholic, CA / 2025

Banning was one of the best performers in the workout portion of the event and his two-way potential with loud arm strength carried over to the work he did in the game play. He worked several very good at bats over the course of the weekend reaching base via hit or base on balls multiple times. On the defensive side of the game Banning showed potential to be a solid SS defender and potentially impact defender at 3B or in RF which combined with his LH hitting offensive profile makes him an intriguing '25 prospect. For as good as his positon player work was during the event Banning was as good if not better on the mound. In a 2 inning stint he worked predominantly early of his 85-88 MPH FB which he was able to get soft contact/swing-miss on until he found his feel for a 75-78 MPH SLD with 2600+ RPM spin rates on the peak level. He struck out multiple hitters over the course of his outing.

Sutton Frost C / RHP / Ganesha High, CA / 2025

Frost looked very strong both behind the plate with good feel for receiving pitches and blocking that gives you the feel he can stay behind the plate long term. Where he did the most impressive work came in the batters box including picking up a loud double to LCF during the game play portion of the event to go with multiple hits over the course of the weekend. His offensive profile with potential to play a premium defensive spot make Frost a strong name to know as an uncommitted '25.

Tristan Jennings OF / 2B / Granada Hills Charter, CA / 2025

Jennings is a leaner framed athletic 5'10 160 lbs. OF who showed the actions and arm strength to handle CF/RF long term with potential to be an impact defender. His defensive play all weekend was very good, but that was not the only impressive part of his weekend. A RH hitter with a quick swing that shows leverage to get the ball to the OF in the air with authority he was able to drive a double to the pull side and pull one down the 3B line for a hustle double aided by running speed. giving him multiple extra base hits for the event.

Wren Woods RHP / SS / Palos Verdes High, CA / 2025

Woods is an interesting position player prospect who showed strong actions playing defense up the middle at both SS/2B with arm strength to handle the spots and good actions. He put together good at bats throughout the weekend as well, but where Woods did his best work was on the bump. A athletic framed 6' 180 lbs. RHP Woods featured a FB in the 85-87 MPH range which he attacked the zone with and showed feel to pitch to all 4 quadrants of the strike zone while mixing in a 67-70 MPH CB that he spun above 2400 RPMs in the event helping him work a pair of clean innings on the mound.

Ethan Johnson C / OF / The King's Academy, CA / 2025

Johnson looked the part of a very strong defensive catcher throughout the event handling multiple different pitchers. His glove is soft and smoooth with a strong wrist to present pitches effeciently while displaying good blocking ability and present arm strength. A LH hitting catcher is always a desirable profile for college programs and when you add the strength that Johnson displayed in the box this weekend including lacing a triple into the RF corner while picking up multiple other hard hit baseballs.

Cody White OF / SS / Bonita High, CA / 2025

A wiry athletic 6' 160 lbs. middle of the diamond defender White was steady to spectacular all weekend on the infield dirt showing off the potential to play multiple spots on the dirt at a solid level. He took quality at bats throughout the weekend and picked up multiple hits including showing the ability to work the middle of the diamond with consistent hard contact. His performance was strong enough that several of the college coaches in attendance could be seen keeping tabs on his at bats closely.

Druw Frost OF / 1B / Point Loma High, CA / 2025

Frost was amongst the best offensive performers at the event during game play where he showed off a polished LH hitting offensive profile. He is an athletic mover who can play all 3 OF spots while looking very comfortable moving around in CF. He started the weekend of game play off for himself by collecting a pair of triples including one he drove to the opposite field gap at 95+ MPH and then came back in game 2 of the weekend for himself to pick up another hit and more quality at bats. A LH bat who possesses impact potential the uncommitted Frost is a '25 name college coaches should be keeping close eyes on.

Chase Davidson OF / OF / AQUINAS HIGH SCHOOL, CA / 2025

A strongly built athletic 5'10 180 lbs. OF Davidson moves with quickness and ease around the OF. Covering ground in the expansive Fullerton College OF showed his potential to be  CF/RF defender who has the arm strength to be at least a solid defender if not one who can be an impact piece of an OF defense. As good as he was playing the OF Davidson possesses as much if not more offensive potential which was on full display throughout his at bats. Another hitter who collected not only multiple hits on the weekend, but picked up multiple extra base hits he was on the barrel for contact all throughout the weekend whether it resulted in a hit or an out the sound off his bat was loud consistently.

Emmett Johnson OF / 2B / St. Ignatius College Prep, CA / 2025

Johnson was another OF in the '25 class who put together a thoroughly impressive weekend as he played the expansive OF at Fullerton College with an impressive grace covering ground and making plays.  He gives you a CF defender vibe with the way he moved around defensively. While a potential impact CF defender is an interesting profile on its own merits the quality of his in game contact including multiple hits and a ringing extra base hit puts Johnson firmly amongst the top performers from this weekends event.

Joshua Ramirez SS / 2B / Turlock, CA / 2025

Ramirez can simply defined as a "baseball player" not the biggest player on the field or the flashiest player on the field his feel to play the game at a high level both offensively/defensively stood out over the 2 games he played. Ramirez was consistently solid playing the INF dirt and looks the part of a potential above average defender at 2B. When the 5'9 155 lbs. RH hitting Ramirez steps in the box his innate feel for putting the baseball in play with hard line drives was on display throughout the game play portion of the event. He picked up multiple hits wearing out the middle of the field with consistent barrels and even his outs were hit hard. An overall very strong showing by Ramirez whose collection of solid tools all combine into a high level player.

Ben Keisler 3B / Milikan, CA / 2025

Keisler kicked off his weekend with a solid workout during the showcase portion of the event, but once the first games got started on Friday afternoon/evening the 6'3 180 lbs RH hitter unloaded on multiple hits including a pair of 95+ MPH extra base hits one coming out of a 2K count that rocketed to LCF which didn't miss going out for a HR by much. He is a 3B defender who could also slot into playing 1B potentially with an impressive offensive profile he was outstanding all weekend.

Cash Dabbs RHP / 1B / Redlands East Valley High, CA / 2025

Dabbs is a 6'3 210 lbs righthander out of the Inland Empire area and when he toed the rubber on Sunday morning for his appearance at CA State Games he let his quality arsenal shine. He pitched off a 87-89 MPH FB which peaked at 90.5 MPH with numerous 90 MPH radar gun readings. His SLD worked at 77-80 MPH with a short tight break that induced swing/miss from several hitters during his outing. He dropped in a 79 MPH CHG for good measure. Dabbs is bound for the University of Louisiana Monroe once his high school career is done and his performance at CA State Games was a strong reminder of why he has a D1 verbal commitment in place.

Diego Gonzalez SS / RHP / EL DORADO HIGH SCHOOL, CA / 2025

While there were numerous players who strung together impressive offensive weekends there was one which stood above the rest based on the feat Gonzalez pulled off. Over the course of two games the University of San Diego commit LH hitting SS combined to hit for the cycle. He launched a loud pull side HR which was a no doubter at 95+ MPH while also adding 95+ MPH exit velocity double and triple then picked up a solid single to round out his offensive performance. Don't get it confused despite being electric at the plate all weekend Gonzalez showed his smooth defensive actions at SS all weekend long where he projects to stay going on to the college level once his high school career at El Dorado wraps up.

Cole Hoffman RHP / OF / Del Norte, CA / 2025

Hoffman was a strong performer earlier in the 2024 calendar year at the SoCal Preseason All State Upperclass as a RH hitting OF who pitched also, but at CA State Games Hoffman took the stage as a RHP only and the jump in the quality of his stuff by this move was readily apparent. Hoffman worked off a 86-88 MPH FB with high spin rates while mixing in 3 solid offspeed offerings in his 75-78 MPH SLD, 76-80 MPH CHG and 72-76 MPH CB all of which he threw for strikes over the course of a dominant two inning stint. Keep eyes on this uncommitted '25 arm out of San Diego as he made quite the impression with his work at CA State Games.
