January 22, 2019
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA - As we finish up our position analysis we will take a look at some standouts from each position in our series THE FIVE. Today we will take a look at standout outfielders from the event that showed well enough to leave a lasting impression on our team of scouts. Earlier we posted a Quick Hits story with multiple early standouts. We also previously released our stats leaders, catchers analysis, outfielders analysis, and corner infielder analysis pieces.
Today we look to dig a little deeper into the six infielders who have a chance to be high level infielders in college. Players are listed in no particular order. Be sure to visit each players profile for more notes on other viewings.

Quick Take
The first thing that stood out when we saw Pyatt was his strength gains since the summer. His lower half is much thicker and there's more noticeable strength through the shoulders and into this chest. This added strength hasn't slowed him down or negatively impacted him whatsoever. In fact, it's translated to more consistent power with the bat as he peppering the gaps with line drives from the left side. The SDSU commit has really elevated his game since an early summer viewing.
SCOUTING REPORT
1/5/19 – SoCal Preseason All-State. SDSU commit. 5-foot-11, 188 lbs. Medium/Large durable frame. Switch-hitter with a whippy bat and a level stroke coming around the zone from both sides. Lacks strength in frame to do big damage, but will be able to drive balls deep into gaps for high doubles totals. Flashed soft hands and the ability to aggressively play through ground balls. Has enough arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield although he may profile as a third baseman in the future. Footwork can get choppy, but he manages to get to the ball under control. Pyatt is an average runner that is adequate on the bases.
